How can I tell when make-up has gone bad?

I bought Covergirl mascara and a M.A.C. compact a couple months ago. Silly me, I left it on the radiator and turned on the heat the other day. Now it smells funny. Did it go bad already? Should I chuck it?

Y'know, I just might chuck it. I'd have to yes, do so. Generally you keep liquid foundation and lipstick for 6 months, mascara 2 and you can go a little longer with powder and eyeshadow but definitely thow it all away after that mark no matter how much you paid for it. If you keep it any longer then...well...not too many people want to know what's on their mascara after 2 months...I sure didn't but it's too late now
