Don't go near one of those places!:D

Actually, do you consider Subway fast food. I always drop in and have one of those 6 grams of fat or less subs loaded with veggies when I get the urge for "fast food".

I can do pretty well (with my willpower) when I don't go close enough to a McD's to smell the fries cooking. And try to stay away from coworkers or peers that are well known for making a food run and smelling the joint up with fast food. In fact, enlist them to get on track to better health by joining you for soup and sandwiches a nearby deli.

Also, pack yourself a nutritious but filling lunch. Put a special treat in there. When you know you have something to look forward to, it helps with those Mac attacks.

Also, get one of those napkins from Subway that has the nutritional content of their subs vs. the Whopper and Big Mac and keep that posted in a visible place in your office or in your car.

It's tough but you can stay focused ;) If you must cheat do a small of whatever you get.

Watch the movie "supersize me" or I invite you to take a tour of the coronary care unit at my hospital so that you can see the end result of fast food addiction....heart attack!

If you do break down choose a healthy alternative if you must. If I feel I need some Wendy's, I will get a bowl of chili and a plain baked potato w/ a lemonade light to drink, something like that. If you must eat chicken, buy rotisserie or eat a grilled chicken sandwhich w/o all the extras if you must.

My thoughts exactly after watching "Supersize Me" it completely changed my view on fast foods. PERIOD. We will never go any fast foods place again. I am working on staying from pizza but I stay away from Domino's and Pizza Hut.

Yes, it's not the end of the world to cheat a little bit. It's also okay to eat a lighter selection at a fast food joint, but I'll tell you, for me this is extremely hard. I can't so much as smell the fries wafting through the air as I drive into a MCD's parking lot before deciding to add some fried food to my fruit and walnut salad.

If you can go in without being swayed by that man chomping on some loose fries on his tray while waiting for his change from the cashier, more power to you.

But I try (and I say try because I have little kids who like an occasional fast food treat) to stay out of those joints.

Hang in there Plenty! I am staying away from fast food and its really hard when I treat my daughter to a Happy Meal and not order something for myself. But I have a goal to reach and I must stay focused!!!

Plenty706, what do you consider fast food?
If it's chicken fingers and fried chicken, how about if you get a veggie version or the chicken tenders.
If u love hamburgers, buy the veggie version. Less points, less calories and healthier for you.
