I am in my first week of following the Body For Life program, based off of the book by Bill Phillips, and I was curious if any of you all tried it and got results.

Oh My goodness get out of my head. I was just on the site and about to print off the new guide to start the challenge next week. I have tried this several times and it is great. I wasn't even going to post that I was going to do it. I completed a challenge awhile ago (I only did it to 9 weeks because I met my goal) and have tried a couple in the past year but could not finish due to health reasons. It is very reasonable to follow. Go for it you will love it!!! They also have a BFL for women that has some additional exercises and is tailored to our needs but the original is fine. Also check out the website www.bodyforlife.com I will also pm you the info on a BFL forum I am a member of. Q
I have a friend who tried it and got great result. I was going to try it next week. i just brought their myoplex shakes. They have a million dollar challenge. Follow thier rules and lose weight/tone up then you can win. Jan. 2007 the winners will be made known.
My co-worker and his wife are doing this. I'll let you know how they like it. They just started

I got this book but never started it. I read somewhere that Janet Jackson followed this plan in the past, not sure if that is true or not.
I like the fact that it has an "free" day. Sylvester Stallone has a book with a similar plan.

Congrats for starting again!. I am now starting my second week. I liked the free day, but by the end of the day I was ready to get back on my routine. I'll keep posting my progress because I need some accountability somewhere.:)

YEAHHHHHH!!!!! I entered the Challenge and I came here because I wanted to tell you ladies about it but like always you all are so informed! I think the challenge will take my body to places I never dreamed. And the chance to win a MILLION BUCKS is a great motivator. Yesterday was my start date so I am excited!

I also am officially back to doing BFL. I had grreat success in the past, after the births of both my children, I need to get back with it because even though I maintained my loss for over 2 years, I recently gained back 20 lbs due to extreme stress. Life has just been out of control.
Good luck to you ladies! Don't give up!

What products do you all use? No offense it seems like a push to get their products sold. I don't mind using products but I don't want to spend a fortune and to qualify you much use at least one of their products. I am not sure which one. And also what exercises are you doing? and do you have a gym membership?

I am doing the exercises outlined in the book. I do have a gym membership that I am finally using because I started working out again. I bought my Myoplex shakes at Wal-Mart for $7 a package. They were $11 at GNC. If you decide to enter and qualify, I believe I saw on their website that they reimburse you for what you bought.

The only EAS product I use is the EAS whey protein. $20.78 for a 5 lb jug at www.vitaglo.com. If you enter the challenge officially, you only need to use one product. Whatever else you choose to use, or not, is up to you. You really only need the whey protein, and for me, the CLA, but I never used the EAS CLA. The protein and the CLA ensure you are getting enough of the right building blcks in your nutrition. Everything else is just fluff, and a waste of money, IMHO.

I am so ready to get started on this challenge!!! I don't know which product to use although?? Any Suggestions. I am working out with a trainer right now 3 days a week. I do cardio every morning from 5-6 a.m. I am soo in love with Turbo Jam right now. I am alternating Turbo jam with treadmill and elliptical. Problems come into play for me when I don't plan my meals ahead of time. I will definently plan ahead this time.

The only product you need is, really, is the whey protein powder. It is foundational. It will help you build lean mass and recover better after working out.

The book outlines a plan of alternating cardio and weight training. For example, Monday weights, Tuesday cardio, through Saturday. Sunday is a free day-you don't exercise and you can eat whatever you want. On the weight training days, you alternate between upper and lower body workouts. So on Monday you would do upper body, Wednesday lower body and Friday, upper again. The next Monday, you would do lower body weight training, then upper on Wednesday and lower again on Friday. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday you would do cardio.

i am sorry. I have read the book, eating for life ,and I found the journal really cheap at a local book store. I know that some people will do more cardio when they have a lot of weight to lose.
