The more I hear about waxing, the more interested I am in getting it done, mainly because I hear it lasts a lot longer than shaving. What's the diff between a Brazillian wax ($80) and a bikini wax ($50)? What other types are there? Where's the best place to get it done? (spa, etc.) If you do it, what's your experience?
... and, would Nair just do the same thing, without the pain???
Thanks!

A Brazilian wax is when they usually take everything off (including the crack hair ) or they just leave a "landing strip" or some other shape like a triangle, a regular bikini wax is when they will just clean up the "edges." Other types include the French bikini wax and the Playboy wax, which are just different terms for basically the same thing. For your first bikini wax experience I definitely recommend going to a spa and having it done, you are in Cali so I am sure there are a plethora of places where you can have it done professionally. Waxing lasts way longer then shaving or using a depilatory cream (the more frequently you wax, the longer it lasts). It also does not itch when it grows back and the hair tends to grow back finer and less coarse. The pain depends on your tolerance level, I recommend taking a pain killer like Advil an 1/2 hour to an 1 hour before hand. I prefer to wax everything; my arms, legs, under arms, stomach and bikini area. I only shave when I don't have time or $$ to wax. HTH.

wow, thanks so much. This really can see myself getting this done soon! I plan on being at the beach after graduation and don't wanna be self consious... don't think I'l go all out with the brazillian, but I have an idea of what I wanna try now... and hope I'll brave the pain. Thanks!:)
