okay i made a mistake i hit the enter button and didnt finish with my title and typing what i wanted...

but here are my first questions....

Concealer Question?
1. i noticed that when i was going thru the thread about how to get the dewy look i noticed that Devin was saying that she uses NC45 in MAC and uses her concealer in NC30..i just noticed something why has it been that they have been selling me a concealer that is the same color of my foundation then in the NC45 if its suppose to be lighter???? so of course im going to have some problems with trying to conceal and cover up dark spots on my face if im using a concealer that is the same color as my foundation...does anyone else see truth in this...
in another way i see why they would do it just in case i wanted to just use the concealer and then place some powder over it....but im just trying to get the art of make up down.....

Hyper Real
2. Ladies im really really trying hard not to go out and purchase this but has anyone else used this and had great success with using it...and have any pics of themselves in this...i just want to see what it would look like with some concealer on and this on.....because truth be told i already have like two bronzers from MAC that have yet to use...

White Eyeliner
3. Okay i had to run out and just try it after seeing the Tyra show...and i heard about it before but never gave it a try before...now im sitting here looking at myself in mirror thinking how different my eyes look because i just lined the bottom of my eyes with it...nothing too thick..and im not big on wearing eye makeup...just filling in the eyebrows...and sometimes a little mascara...and sometimes a MAC eyeliner pencil...but im loving the way my eyes look...anyone tried this..i know its suppose to make your eyes pop...

Really i just wantd to have another thread for make up looks and see if Devin got the job with MAC??? I loved her Dewy look

I use it under my eyebrows but I have seen people use it as a eyeliner.

Same here..I mainly use a little under my eyebrow and blend it in really well to help define the shape of my brow underneath and for a light highlight...but I haven't been brave enough to use it as a eyeliner yet.

Concealer--I'm an NC45 and wear NW 30 concealer. Works like a charm!!! Hyper Real--to me, it's too thick. I prefer the powdered bronzers better.

I'm not Devin but I figure I'd post anyway.

White eyeliner definitely make the eye pop, but I don't prefer white all the time because my skin is a tad brown and the white is really kinda loud on me. I like to use heirloom eye kohl by MAC because its a light silver, but has the same effect while not scarring people away.

Also, at my last interview, the manager taught me that you should almost never sell someone a cool toned concealer, it should always be w or nw. So, I think that you should get a second opinion on that one. I put an NC45 foundation on my model, and we used the NW40 concealer on her.

I have Hyper real foundation and I hate it, lol.

Thanks LilChocolateMa...i figured i could count on you to stop by with ur pro tips...okay thats sounds good i'll check out the NW40 concealer...so i'll chk out both of them...because really im just trying to go more for a natural look of covering up my little dark areas which are not that many and then put on something that gives a little of a dewy/glossy/bronzy look(knw of anything)??? on top of it...thats why i kind of hoped on the Hyper Real...

another question is why would they(MAC people) suggest for me to purchase the concealers in NW45 the same exact color of the foundations if those are use to cover up you know because that would kind of defeat my purpose and it would not give me the same effect that i would need at home right??

I knw i need to pull out my Sam Fine Book..lol

I don't think some MA's know anything about color theory. I mean I just got hired at MAC but there are many things that I know from trial and error on people that I swear these girls (and gents) have no clue about. Unbelievable. They assume using the same color will cover up the darkness, which it will, but it doesn't fix the problem. When I used the NC concealer on the model, it looked chalky. She said lemme show you how to work this, you need to warm up her under eye area. I never thought about it that way. Then she applid a bit of a darker blot powder over top with the 224 brush. They are supposed to learn this stuff at basic training!!! Hyper real is good for some people, just not me. I have seen people pull it off wonderfully, but I rely on my studio fix, studio tech, select tint and studio stick only! I love dewey cheeks but I achieve that with other cream products.

Actually I wear select moisturecover in nw40 and LilChocolateMa is right you should wear nw or w concealer. You can use a concealer that is the same color as your foundation when you want to cover up dark spots on your skin, but you would want something heavier and probably apply it before your foundation, but I would suggest the nw. You would then apply the concealer to that spot let it dry for a minute or two and dab it into the skin so that you don't wipe it away. The same goes for under eye concealer. Apply it under the eye from the lower lashline to right above the cheekbone let it dry for a minute or two then dab into the eyes.I then set it with loose powder in nc40 or nc45.

I have never tried hyper real just b/c I have soooo many shimmery products and a ton of foundations. I have heard really great reviews about it and it does give a nice natural glow on the women that I have seen wearing it.

Oh congrats on officially becoming a MA of MAC...girl if you were down in South Florida u and LilChocolateMa would be my mentors until i got skilled in the craft of MAC and other makeups lol...that has to be so exciting....

okay i have another question about the Hyper Real...could i use it if i wanted to use a concealer just on the dark areas which arent that many let it dry in...and then for the dewy glow could i use the Hyper Real to give me such as a nice glow basically use it like it is a foundation well it is listed as a foundation...but have you seen anyone do it like that before has the look turned out okay or nice before?? see the look that im trying to go for is more of like a glow like Gabrille Union im in love with her look...for some reason to me she seems to always be glowing to me when she takes pictures...

thanks! yes you can use a concealer and the hyper real. you would apply the hyper real just like a foundation. then apply the concealer, let it dry for a minute or two and then blend with a wedge or concealer brush and set just the concealer with a powder. you should have that dewy look you are going for. you can also use shimmer blushes and MAC is supposed to release their mineralized skinfinishes around August or September and they are perfect for that dewy look!:)

Do either one of you know of a good loose powder? I'm not sure I have MAC money but I need something that I can wear over some concealer and light foundation without looking too made up. Just something to take down the oily skin without looking too chalky.

Also, how can I get a nice dewy look without being greasy?

Hi BlueDiamond,
I've been hip to the white eyeliner for a while now, but I tend to use this for the evening. I'm into dramatic eyes and minimal cheeks & lips (with gloss..of course) but the white liner just makes my eyes pop even more.

I am just a MAC whore, but thier loose blot powder is AWESOME. I bought them in every color, for my clients. Time and time again I get pictures back from them and there is not an oily spot in sight!

I did a small article on this topic, you can view it here: http://scandalousbeauty.blogspot.com/2006/01/instant-dewy-cheeks.html
The key is cream products, any cream product will give you that dewey effect. Besides that product from Stila, MAC's cream color bases and blush cremes will give you the effent that you want.

i have to agree with LCM, MAC's loose blot powder is the bomb! It is well worth the 20.00 I promise you and will keep you from shining.:D As already mentioned any products with shimmer or creamy products will give a dewy look. you can apply them on the cheekbones and the temples. Use a liquid or cream foundation, and cream or shimmer blush, don't set with a powder. You can also finish the look with a spray of MAC fix+ and you will have the dewy look you want.;)

I love MAC's loose blot powder! You do know it's colorless though right? I went to the last class and the MA that was there told us that it's colorless, but they just make it in different colors so people won't be put off by it. I use it on all the girls' whose makeup I do (in dark) and we are all different "colors"

Just thought I'd save you some money.

Yup, it's transparent but not enough. I use all four on different girls, I wouldn't use the Deep Dark Blot Powder on an NC35 ya know? When I have to do NC15's and such, I have to use the medium. But hey, whatever floats your boat! :)
