Okay, so I'm back on a diet!
So, I eliminated red meat. I replaced all my white products with brown and whole grains (bread, rice, and eggs). Eating one cup of Activa yogurt per day. Walking on my treadmill for 2 miles (working my way to 5). Eating fresh fruit as snacks.

In one week I've lost 4 pds.

Here's one of my recipes. (TT means to taste)

Barilla Multigrain Pasta with Omega 3
1 16 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 cup onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
chopped black olives (TT)
portebella mushrooms (TT)
basil (TT)
Salt & Pepper (TT)
1/2 cup of spinach
2 tablespooons of Flax seed oil.

Boil Barilla Pasta for 11 minutes...Then drain.

Heat 2 tablespoons of flax seed oil in pan
add garlic and saute.
Then add onion, olives and mushrooms.
Add Tomatoes and Basil (salt & Pepper)
Bring to boil and then add cook pasta.
Turn pot off and lay bed of Fresh spinach on top and let sit for 5 minutes.

Serve and sprinkle Romano or Parmesan cheese on top.

Omega 3 and Flax seed are good for hair and skin. The whole grain is good for the colon and a better source of starch.

Don't be scurred try it:lachen:

I love the Barilla Multigrain Pasta! We eat it at least 3 times/week with Shady Brook Farms Turkey Meatballs. :lick: My kids don't even notice the difference between that pasta and white pasta and it's soooo much healthier.

WOW!

Do you I did this exact same thing (I bought the Activa just from commercial knowledge...sniff!!...PJ) for lent (since Ash Wednesday) and now I'm still doing it because of consecration. I lost 15lbs without even trying. This was all purely for God and he blessed me with the weight loss. So that weight will drop off effortlessly. GO GIRL!

Could you expound more on the Activa? Oh heck, I'll go Google. But let me know what it's doing for u. I put about 1/2 tsp psyllium husk in it (maybe even less) and soon it's bathroom time. This is quite strange because I'm used to using much more psyllium husk than this in my smoothies without the same effect.

I brought the Activa and the items for the pasta dish. I will make it tonight for my lunch tommorow.

I was just in GNC looking for psyllium husk and in the process I found a fiber powder by Renew life also. I asked the lady which was better she told me the Renew Life because it did not have psyllium husk in it. She said that your body can become dependent on it.

I finished the Activa and i'm now using plain Yogurt and adding my own fresh fruit and no extra sugar. I wonder if i add fiber will it have the same effect...Like Benfiber?
Hey! I forgot to add that I'm drinking tons of water! 16oz before each meal.

I always thought u weren't supposed to cook with the flax oil cuz i read it was reactive or something! Does it act like anyother oil to u?

I don't use too much and it cooks fine for saute'.

When I was a vegetarian. My cooking instructor sauteed veggies with it all the time. So, when I started to diet again I started putting it in smoothies and cooking veggies with it.

Hmmmmm...ok. When my psyllium is finished, I'm gonna try the Renew. I think the lady's very right. I don't hop to the bathroom like before.
