What do you do? I've been wearing them for well over 6 months and I would like to keep my length. What can I do to strengthen them and get the ridges out?

you could try to do a nail overlay have them apply acrlyic on top of you own nails to keep them hard and long...otherwise they will end up breaking...i took my acrylic nails off basically because i didnt want to damage my nail bed anymore because with them drilling it down and wearing it down...and had them take the nails off and do a manicure this was for a friends wedding my nails looked really nice...i mean all of them werent the same length but i was happy that my nail bed was not as bad as i thought it was going to be and i thought that my nails were going to breaking and damaged...well about a couples days later my nails were breaking from left to right...and so so soft...

I can say i was a fake nail lover.. But as blue says it messes up ur nail bed real bad.. So i went to this spa and for first time in my life got a manicure with my real nails. The lady there recommend that i try
Nailtiques After Artificial Treatment and girl it works.. My nails have never grown long and now i see them getting healthy... Here's where u can purchase it and get info as well http://www.dermadoctor.com/product.asp?WID=%7B497A0DEC%2D606E%2D48F4%2D91A3%2 D66E084AE5855%7D&productid=607 Ohh, and as much as it hurts to say all the nail on ur nail is considered damage and will eventually break off because its been drill on. It's like getting a fresh perm and than wanting to go natural you can't you got to get that BC.. just like this..

I HATE how my nails look after I take my fake nails off. Right now I am super tight on cash and I don't want to waste money on the upkeep, so I took them off last week. My nails are brittle and thin...arghhhh!

If they do it right and file it down and then manicure your natural nails they look right. But theyll still be weak and subject to break.

When I got my overlay off, the man at the nail salon reccomended a product to me called Nail Tech that will strengthen your nails. I believe you can find it at Sallys. I haven't seen it in the BSS, though.

when i removed my acrylic/gel nails, i had to use a hardener and my own nails were so weak and thin.
So now i use Sally Hansens Maximum Strength about twice a week and my nails are the length the acrylics used to be :)

I've never had artifical nails, but if you take msm on a daily basis, your nails will grow like crazy (makes my nails strong too). I like my nails nice and short. Since I take msm daily, I have to cut my nails quite often.

I just started to take the MSM. How long did it take to grow your loonatick (lol)

How does everybody else feel about MSM?

well i had false nails for around a year, but i maintained the length i had almost straight away.
It takes about 2-3 weeks of use to get at their strongest and really hard.

I was thinking the same thing. I know that biotin will do really help with the growing out process and will make your nails grow in stronger. I have heard plenty of nail success stories from MSM takers too. I tryly don't think there is much nail polish can do but protect the nail, but vitamins will help strenghten.

I used to be a chronic nail biter, then I switched to wearing acrylics for about 10 years. I've been acrylic free for the past 3. I use Qtica Nail Growth Stimulator.

If you do a search here, you'll see some others who have used it and recommend it. It's a REALLY good product. The ONLY one I use to maintain nail length and strength.

Good luck.

I bought some sally hansen nail strengthener it has some sort of fibers in it. The colors were ugly but it's working.
