I had my eyebrows threaded today for the first time (had been a long while since I last had them waxed). The lady did a wonderful job. I'm definitely going to continue on with threading my eyebrows.

I heard that term here before but am clueless as to what it means. Is it better than just regular waxing?

I love it too Allandra :) . Waxing makes me break out so this is a great alternative.

threading is when they shape your brows using thread instead of wax. they move the thread in a way so that the hairs kind of get trapped between the thread and they roll it, thus causing it to be pulled out from the root.

I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time 3 weeks ago and I LOVE them. This is the best that they have ever looked and it only cost me $10! I will definitely be using this method from now on. It's much more precise than waxing or tweezing IMO.

Threaders are the only people that I will let near my eyebrows. They always look precise, but natural. I have naturally thick eyebrows, so people are always asking me if they are real or if I fill them in. I'm actually going to get mine done on Monday.

I will only get my eyebrows threaded now. So they grow bushy because I cannot find a place near me in Jersey that does a good job. So I usually wait until I am making a trip to NYC.

If anyone knows a good threader in Essex County or Northern area of NJ, please let me know!

Yes, it is a little unpleasant but no more than waxing IMO.

me too! I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time last month and they still look like the first day I got them done! And the icing on the cake is that is only cost $5 dollars.....not bad at all.

It's done with regular ole thread. IMO, it's better than regular waxing.

This is what I love about threading, so precise.

Well, the spa I go to down here told me that my brows were too thick to get threaded and that it would hurt like hell not to mention it wouldn't be defined like with waxing. The spa does wax and threading.

I would say find your local Indian/Pakistani salon. All the women in there have full and neat eyebrows. One lady even told my sister to use castor oil to thicken her eyebrows up. I also think that they overcharge at spas to do threading.

If you ever come to Dekalb County, you can go to Hair Images on North Druid Hills/Briarcliff Road. They do a great job and it only costs $7.

Thanks, I will go there after I let my brows grow a little more for a better after effect.

I live in Morris County so I don't if I can help, but I know that if you go to Jersey City (large Indian/mid-Eastern Population) You're sure to find a salon that provides this service.

I have thick eyebrows, and it didn't hurt like hell (just felt like some pinching), and my eyebrows are very defined. I know one thing, I'm definitely going to continue on with getting them threaded.
