I have a problem with weight around my stomach and back. Today someone at my job suggested that I wrap my mid-section in plastic wrap twice each week. I think this is similar to body wraps that spa's use. She said it helps get rid of water weight. I'm willing to try almost anything for a smaller waist. I'm going to wrap my waist at night for three weeks and post results. I need to take before pics I'll post them tommorow. I wrapped my waist tonight to see how hard it could be to do it and when I unwrapped the plastic my waist was sweating. So I'm going to see if it works.

Green tea and CLA are excellent for belly fat been taking for 2 months and lost over 2 inches. These are both natural and can been taken forever even though I always rest with supplement every 2 or 3 months for about 2 weeks and then start again. All my fat goes straight to my waist but now I got handle on it the nature way. I think I still going to try the plastic wrap. I do not eat alot of white carbs but carbs with fiber like whole wheat, rye etc.

Hey ladies

I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone replied to this. But YES I have been wrapping my stomach for 7 years.

However, soft reynolds wrap is ok, but the harder the plastic the better. I get mines from a food service company, it's hard plastic.

I believe that this HELPS in training your stomach muscles and molding a waistline.

I have had 2 c-sections and we all know how hard it is to keep a flat stomach after that. But I am a strong believer that plastic wrap is the reason why. :) .

I know fitness experts may NOT agree to this, but IT WORK FOR ME.

SO AGAIN LADIES GET YOU TINEST BIKINIS OUT THIS SUMMER, BECAUSE YOU WILL BE DOING THE DAMN THANG.:)

I know this is straying off topic slightly - but this is really works. My mom wrapped my stomach after I gave birth and insisted that I wear the wrap daily for 6 weeks. I'm glad that I gave in to her suggestion because my sister gave birth 3 years before I did and refused to wear the wrap and to this day she still can't fully get rid of her post-pregnancy stomach bulge (mind you, her daughter is now 13). I can see the plastic wrap working by training the stomach muscles to some degree.

Hey CandiceC

I have never used garbage bags, but I assume it would have the same affect if you wrap it tight enough.

However try to use reynolds wrap, because it clings and grips your stomach better.

But remember the harder the plastic the better.

This is very interesting ladies! But, I guess I don't really understand how wrapping your abs, or loosing "water weight" could have any real long-term staying power. How exactly does this work? And how does getting rid of "water weight" help you maintain a flat stomach for years??

Hey Crystalicequeen123

Only thing I can give you is my testimony. I have been wrapping for years, forbidding my FAT to see light. :lachen: Something is working, and it ain't diet cause I can get down on some black eye peas, corn bread, mash potatoes, fried chicken, peach cobbler, and pork. And thats for breakfast:lol: .

I want you to try something. Sit down and hold in your stomach as tight as you can. Then slowly proceed to twist to your right, HOLD, then to your left, HOLD. You should have felt pressure.

Now try it without holding in your stomach. Nothing. You feel Nothing.

Though it not as effective as stomach exercises, but it HELPS. Making every movement count.
Ladies, we get so comfortable, we let our bellies go, just do anything it wants to do. But wrapping gives it RESTRICTION, and makes you use stomach muscles that you are not use to uses in simple every day activities.

It may not give us six pack abs, but it reduce chances of our stomachs getter bigger and start us on our way to reducing our waistline.

***Victory is Mine
04-05-2006, 02:50 PM
From what I heard before, this technique helps because when you wrap your stomach tightly, it allows you to always work your muscles. Meaning everytime you decide to let your stomach hang out, the pressure from the wrap will make it uncomfortable and then you will suck your stomach in. After a while, you are doing this all day basically keeping a contraction which helps to make the muscles stronger. HTH Q

This is interesting. So you just wrap this around your waist and tie with a knot? How long are you supposed to keep it on? During the day as well? Is there another way to restrict your stomach muscles without the plastic wrap that can be worn during the day? God bless you all.

Try to wear it everyday, your stomach is in training. If you don't want to, try to wear it to bed. But its not as effective if you are not moving around.

When I started I was just wearing it to make my clothes fall better. I had just had my daughter, I didn't know it was reducing my waiste.

You don't need to tie a knot. The wrap clings and grips to your body. Wrap your stomach just like you do your foods.

Hey

I get my plastic wrap from a food service company that make lunchs for Chicago schools. It's the good stuff. It's HARD PLASTIC. I have a friend that works there.

When you wrap your stomach, MAKE SURE YOU WRAP THE ENTIRE STOMACH, starting right under your breast, all the way down.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO DOUBLE OR SOMETIMES TRIPLE EACH AREA BEFORE MOVING ON TO THE NEXT SECTION. PULL AND MAKE SURE IT IT TIGHT.

But I STRONGLY recommend professional wrap. I imagine other food service stores or even restarants would have it or can tell you where they get it. Reynolds wrap and garbage bags are ok, but will take longer to get the effect you are looking for.

This will work for anyone, no matter what size your waist is.

My sister is a beautiful plus-size woman, and it worked for her as well.:)

OOOooohhhhh....NOW I understand! :yep: Okay...yes, I see how wrapping could work now. It may not be the "water weight" you're loosing, but simply working the stomach muscles.

I've read in some magazines for women fitness that if you're trying to slim your waist-line, you should but a little string around your waist (slightly snug--not TOO tight!), and throughout the day try to suck in your waist/belly so that the string loosens and drops, and try to see how long you can do this a day. I hear it works the "inner abs" and keeps your stomach flat. :D :D

I spoke with my friend that I get my wrap from and she said to try any Warehouse stores or restarant supply store or stores like Costco, Gordon Food Service or Sams Club. ASK FOR THE INDUSTRIAL SIZE SARAN WRAP.

Only trick is someone has to help wrap you, but tell them not to wrap to tight. It is HARD plastic, and if wrapped to tight with this wrap, you may risk passing out. :perplexed

It's just like a corset, from back in the day. Be careful.

THE RESULT ARE PHENOMENAL. IT WILL TAKE INCHES OFF YOUR WAIST AND REDUCE YOUR WAIST SIZE.

Reynolds wrap and garbage bags, girdles, ARE NOT as effective.

But again, I recommend the INDUSTRIAL SIZE SARAN WRAP for better visible results.

I am unaware of that one. However, if it is HARD, it will work.

Reynolds wrap rolls down to easy, and easily breaks. You want something that will stay in place and that is durable, even if we are sweating.

If you can poke a hole in it, easily. Then its too soft.

I do not eat alot of white carbs but carbs with fiber like whole wheat, rye etc.

did you see under the rubber one it said
for the best results, combine it with any other cotton rubber body shapers

I think that you can adjust the cotton/rubber one and the rubber only one just fastens.
You got me think about getting both of them:look:

it took a LOT for me not to order both... but i figured if i wanted the extra boost i could put the plastic under the cotton/rubber one and get some of the extra benefits... but i also figured that i'd only do the double duty while i'm at home because if i'm going to be sweating, i'd much rather not be out in public.. lol

i got the cotton/rubber... i figure that the pure rubber one would be great for the sweat factor but not so much for the training the muscles factor (since you can't wear it as long)....

yeah, i used that chart... according to it, i needed the medium, which is what i ordered... if left to my own devices i probably would have ordered a large.... i guess my biggest concern was getting it and then wearing it but passing out cuz i'm in a vice-grip... lol ... we shall soon see!!!...

for those who dont want to order a product,

saran wrap, duct tape, and those ace bandages work well for this. i recommend sleeping in them. and after that wear your product of choice as much as possible. it definitely works.

hi ladies. i'm going to join this challenge. i meant to add a comment last week. "pre" childbirth my stomach measured 27 inches. during the day i would make sure i held my stomach in to increase muscle strength. i took measurements last week and i'm at a whopping 32 inches.

i know this is due to the expansion of my stomach and eating more. after i had my daughter i noticed that i could eat twice as much and not even fill full :ohwell:
i have a band already but i haven't been wearing it. i found it months ago at marshalls for five bucks. i'm going to start wearing again along with exercising and trying to remember to hold in my tummy! wish me luck

ETA: soooooooooo i went ahead and ordered two of the slimaire belts... the funny thing is that according to their instructions i need a medium (from 31 to 36 inches)... so we'll see how that goes... if all goes well, i'll be into my adorablebodies cincher at some point later...

Whooo! when i did that a couple of times last summer, I was sweating!

I knew football palyers who trained like this. Some bought plastic sweat suits . They can be bought online and at some sports good stores. Some Wal-marts have these.

I have on of those buts that sticks out and a short waist the the platic rises up. :perplexed

My girlfriend who use to be a personal trainer for Bally's told me about this trick. I thought she was straight up crazy when she came to my house and started wrapping her stomach and thighs in saran wrap. I was like, what in the hell is she doing? But I said to myself, hell, she got it going on, so I might as well try it and see how it works. I did it for about a month straight and I noticed a huge difference in my waistline. I had the nerve to wear it to work one day...huge mistake. I was walking around crunching every time I made a move. I went to the bathroom and cut that plastic off of me and went on about my business.

I tried this a few months ago. I wrapped myself from neck to toe with saran wrap (kind of reminds you of Jamie Foxx in Bootycall) and tucked myself into a very warm bed with a down comforter. I was only able to keep it on for a total of 5 hours each time. It was a really weird experience. People and memories that I hadn't thought about in years came flooding back.

I haven't tried it since because I didn't want the trip down memory lane. But I have a rubber waist wrap that I got from Target so I went to put it on.

BTW, I did see results when I did the plastic wrap.

I used to exercise everyday in a plastic suit (black sauna suit) - either sears or modells sells them - I stopped. I forgot all about this. I lost a LOT of weight in a short time. ALL OVER! I would run for 30 mins straight on the threadmill with it. My sneakers would be flooded out from sweat; and then when i put my hands down to my side all the water that had gathered up in the elbow region would gush out like I'd opened a bottle of water and christened the gym floor. i remember hearing about pageant girls also--- when they wrap their thighs and bodies they apply hemorrhoid creme (preparation h to be exact) to shrink all the areas they wanted to shrink. Why you ask? lol because if preparation h SHRINKS hemorrhoids as well as they do it has a good effect for shrinking the thighs and minimizing cellulite...

usually they only do this during pageant times...but im thinking if it was done for a prolonged period of time it would work BETTER than for them just doing it for a pageant..

I bought the Bell Fitness version of these yesterday at Modells. Did an hour of cardio. FANTASTIC! Soaked but not dripping all over the joint like when I had the sauna suit. Also, I had taken a spin class last Friday (haven't done one of those in years) and my thighs were on FIYAH! No more pain. Probably the warmth created by the pants took care of this.

I can't wait til the end of the week to see my results for waist, stomach, hips, butt and thighs

Also, I had taken a spin class last Friday (haven't done one of those in years) and my thighs were on FIYAH! No more pain. Probably the warmth created by the pants took care of this.

I can't wait til the end of the week to see my results for waist, stomach, hips, butt and thighs

Thanks ladies ! I will be wrapping in plaxtic everynight. Matter of fact--I wrapped my stomach in plastic and I am headed for the gym to work out...This is a great thread :)

I wouldn't pay more than $19 for them - that's what I paid.

http://www.ekitchengadgets.com/evneshlaev.html (there is an additional 5% discount)

but, i sure wish i had done a search on ebay:

I just cannot do this yet. I am one of those people that laugh at the ladies who wear the garbage bag suits to the gym :( I mean I want to sweat but not THAT bad.

I do believe it works, but I guess I am to stuffy to wear it in public.

Within a month, people (including my trainer) were remarking that i was "disappearing." didn't even change my diet. i exercised 5 days a week for an hour: 30 minutes running (i ran at 6.5 - i'm working my way back up there) and 30 minutes on the elliptical...then my ex and i got back together and i've been fat ever since.:lachen:

You R KILLING ME!!!!!!!!!!

The gym attendants were NOT pleased with me. I'm gonna stop at Modells this morning and get one of the belly ones....ooh, maybe I'll buy the pants.

belt: http://www.modells.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2259195&cp=710956.1085816&page=2&doVSearch=no&pageBucket=0&parentPage=family - there's also a pants that u can wear under your gym gear made of this same material, but I don't see it listed.

sauna suit: http://www.modells.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2259198&cp=&page=6&searchId=0&doVSearch=no&doVSearch=no&pageBucket=0&brandId=71&parentPage=search

I got my sauna suit from Walmart. It was a lot cheaper. They are by the weights.

HEY
Ive been folowing this thread for a while now and just wondered how long you ladies will carry on doing this for? the inch loss thru water loss is temporary so are you ladies intending to carry on doing this indefinately? Id find it very difficult to carry on doing this for 7 plus years, are you ladies wrapping really tightly as though it were a concher? I understand the concept of the waist cincher and realise that this can be long term/permanent.
does anybody have any results to post as im tempted to get a regular corset to improve my posture.

thanks

So, I wrapped with saran wrap this morning, and on saturday I bought a slimming tummy shaper...(looks like a tube top that's made out of hard strechy material and has metal strips sewn down the sides to keep it's shape)

I put that on over my saran wrap and did 25 minutes of Turbo jam.. Phew!
the sweat was running off my stomach!

So guys, when do we start seeing a difference,
and to maintain the changes, do we have to do this indefinitely (forever and a day?)

I just started wrapping my stomach. I tried it for the first time yesterday for about an hour. I just walked around the house doing random things. Now I'm at work wearing it..:look:  I can't believe I'm doing this. A male freind has suggested this to me for years but I'm just now catching on. He wraps his stomach every time he goes to the gym. I'm hitting the gym for an hour after I leave work. I thought I'd be uncomfortable and all but I've managed to hold in my abs most of my work day! I think this might work for me.

I also have one of those rubber waist cinchers at home... Maybe I'll pull that out for the weekends.;)

 Priceless :D
Truth to tell, I was going to do the same thing, but hence the crunching I thought maybe not. It is a long walk from my area to the restrooms  :lachen:

I've only been wearing mine for one week because I initially ordered the wrong size. It is really confortable to wear all day. I've been thinking about getting a corset though. I would just use some plastic wrap underneath it in the day time. I don't want to keep buying one of these things whenever I loose a an inch. Even though I only have 3 inches to my goal. I've lost 1 1/2 inches so far (I don't think this is due to the shapewear) . Today, I'm wearing a pair of pants that I could not wear last month.

My shapewear is so comfortable that my plan is to incorporate it in my daily wardrode. It makes be look much curvier.

I tried my sauna suit today and yes it had me sweating. Only problem is I can't stand all that noise this suit makes while I'm exercising. Also the side of my pants got caught on the bathroom door and it ripped a quarter size hole in it.....is there anyway to fix this b/c I hate buy another suit. Will it still work. Thanks

This is a great post.
I'm on my way within the hour to the 'dollar store'. :driver:
I already have the velcro wrap. :scratchch Humm... I'll just add the reynolds under that.

I'd like to do the ACV, however it has too much acid for my stomach.

After that so called "Coconut Oil" to lose weight (gain 10 lbs from it).
I'll NEVER consume anything that says coconut. :nono: It's only good for the hair!
I think this will work well with my crash diet for a movie premier next month (my husband is in the biz), and an in-law family reunion....yeah!:yay:
I can see my new look now. :crystalba I've never lost more than 20 lbs., but I'm confident with my new plan that I will do it and look good without a little stomach poking out a bit.

I slacked off for a while because I didn't want to wear it under my tanks and summer clothes...I bought the waist cincher a while back... On Tuesday I wore it through my whole work out and then rinsed and dried when i got home and wore it to sleep. Now that the weather is changing I'll be able to wear it to work when I'm wearing sweaters or thicker shirts. But I have noticed when i do wear it to bed...when i get up in the morning my shirts fit so much better... I also use it sometimes when I'm doing crunches..which I'm currently up to 100 a day....it helps me keep my stomach tight while doing them. I can also tell i'm losing weight because when i first got it....i had back fat hanging out of the top...now it is gone! So all I'm working on now is my luv handles which by the way i have two on one side and three on the other:ohwell: .....

I want to lose my stomach, but don't want to lose my fuller bra size or bigger booty. I do need to tone up tho. I will try to wear the waist cincher everyday for 30 days to see what happens. Not only did my dh think I was nuts when I told him how long my hair was going to be (pointing to the middle of my back) my whole family did. The shook their heads as if to say yea right.

Now I have the longest hair in my family but I am not BSL YET. Just wait until I go to the salon Feb1 and come back home flinging my hair. Then I will ask them whose laughing know.

i remember hearing about pageant girls also--- when they wrap their thighs and bodies they apply hemorrhoid creme (preparation h to be exact) to shrink all the areas they wanted to shrink.

This does really work. My trainer had me doing to get ready for a bodybuilding show. It's mostly for tightening the skin (and shedding water) but yes, it does work....(AND THE Prep H is a FSA refundable expense so...save those receipts if you use it for this! I have TUBES of it on hand as I start prepping for my next figure competition in March/April! :yep:

I think it depends on how much you want to lose, and how stubborn the body part is. For my legs, it's a very slow process but for my abs which are the first bodypart to respond, it's a matter of a few days.

Bear in mind that it's primarily water weight that's is helping you shed, though the elevation in temperature at the site MAY induce a small amount of fat loss. I'd opt personally for a full body wrap if I were in a time pinch, they run about $100, using the same principle but you lose inches ALL OVER. But again, it's water but it does temporarily tighten and help the skin looked more toned.

I can't say I've seen anything for arms; the closest would be the sauna suit. I'm sure you're familiar with those, usually you seem them worn by boxers or someone who has to cut weight really fast. It's a plastic 'jacket' and pants that you put on and do cardio, sit in the sauna, etc.

Update!!!:

I did the Prep H this morning w/my Neoprene Shorts and Waist Belt, threw on my Sauna Suit over that and rode my stationary bike for 35 minutes. I'll upload photos as soon as I find my charger for my camera.

Anyway, preworkout I weighed myself on my Tanita Scale, I was 153.4 lbs w/24.7% body fat. Post workout, my weight was 152.0, 22% body fat!! The body fat reading means little to me because of my muscle density and using the scale immediately after a workout will guarantee incorrect results. I use it merely to gauge whether the percentage going up or down.

What blew my mind was that I lost 1.5 lbs of water during my ride and I was sipping water during it! I've decided to give this a try for the next 7 days until I see my trainer and see if he notices a difference in my appearance!

I'll update again next ride (tomorrow)! :bouncy:

I ordered the same one last week.
Like others, I want to lose inches in my waist, but nothing else, I'm currently a 38-30-40. I hope to get to 38-27-40 . I know they say I can't spot reduce, but I'm giving myself 45 day to lose the inches and still maintain/re-gain weight that I may lose in the process (I'm 5'4 140 now)

So for the next 45 days I plan to

* wear my waist cincher daily
* cut out all fried foods & saturated fats
* eat fresh fruits & veggies only for breakfast and lunch
* "regular" dinner, but before 8pm ( I have a bad habit of eating late)
* light cardio (lunch time walks at least 1mile daily)
* work my way up to 200 crunches daily.

It's harder for me to maintain my weight, I'll sacrifice 5lbs though

why waste time on such a temporary method? simply cut out eating high fat and sugar foods and amp up your cardio and weight lifting! those love handles will go away. it requires a lifestyle change not some lose water quick scheme.

So I'm going to see if it works.

why waste time on such a temporary method? simply cut out eating high fat and sugar foods and amp up your cardio and weight lifting! those love handles will go away. it requires a lifestyle change not some lose water quick scheme.

Hey Kei - I purchased a size medium...I hope it won't be too big? If so, is there way to tighten it, or will i just have to buy a smaller one?

While I agree that a healthy diet and exercise routine is beneficial, the waist nippers or corsets also work and it is NOT temporary. After I gave birth to my daughter 3 years ago, I was walking around for a month looking 6 months preggo. My aunt told me that I was suppose to bind my waist so I went to small lingerie shop and bought one (similar to the one Kei bought). I wore it over my tank top all day and night and in 2 days flat, what was a 46" waist shrunk to a 28". I could not believe how much water I was still carrying. I am now a 27 " trying to get to a 26". These corsets reshape your waist and with constant use, it does work. You just have to maintain it. :)

It's obviously not a "quick fix" as some have been using it for several years. But since you feel like that, don't do it.

For long term results you are correct but sometimes it helps people to see faster results to get them to commit to the long term goal. It takes MUCH longer to get in shape than it does to get out of shape...

The progression can be slow but rewarding...whatever path you take to get there, stay true to i and results will come.

I hear you. Ol school always said to wear a girdle after having children to regain the waist. What I am touting is a lifestyle change, not some get rich quick scheme or shortcut. People just need to put in the time and work to get the results they desire.

If you need to reduce body fat - back AWAY from the table and put down the sweets. You can't spot reduce (I don't care what old or new school says).

Saran wrap, Reynolds wrap, head wrap - doesn't matter. Getting rid of water is WAY TEMPORARY! Drink the amount you sh/ per day (1/2 your body weight in ounces) you will regain that in no time flat.

People need to stop being lazy and just put in the grind to reduce weight, increase muscle and reduce fat. Your heart, joints and arteries will thank you for it.

People aren't going to commit if they see a major difference in 2 days vs. 2 months. They will think all they have to do is be disciplined for 2 days and they will be able to maintain whenever they start to increase.

And contrary to common belief it takes a while to get out of shape. You don't eat a donut today and gain 15 lbs the following week. But developing habits where you are eating 1 donut a day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year - ummm yeah you are going to see a significant difference in your weight gain.

True commitment comes from being tired of feeling and looking bad not from thinking they can make a permanent change within 2 days of sacrifice. It won't last - I've seen it all too often.

I hope I don't come off argumentative b/c that isn't my purpose. I am just tired of seeing AA women and AA people be so overweight and lazy about weight management.

Yeah I know I tend to be very direct - straight no chaser. I don't B.S. online or in my real life. Too much of that going around. So while the truth may be hard to hear - I am not trying to facilitate people's good feelings while allowing them to kill themselves slowly with bad habits.

What does Judge Mathis call it? Oh yeah, Tough Love!

But working out doesn't have to be a chore or hard. Starting with a 30 minute walk, 4 days a week at a comfortable pace is doable. Then slowly build up to a more aggressive pace that gets the heart rate above 140 or whatever the target heart rate sh/ be for your age. Then when the confidence is built up try different things to constantly work different muscles and challenge the body.

My mom lost 20 lbs in 2 months from simply walking on a treadmill at a moderate pace, 30 minutes in the morning and cutting out or rather severely cutting back on how much sweets she ate (i.e. cakes, cupcakes, sodas, desserts, etc.)

It was amazing and didn't really take much. I started running over 18 months ago. I bought a little book from the check out line in the grocery store titled How to build up to running 30 minutes in 12 weeks or something like that. It started off as a walk/run program (i.e. walk 2 minutes, run 1 minute, walk 2 minutes, etc.) until you build up to 30 minutes. The next day the amount of time you walk decreased and the amount of time you run increased. Next thing you know - after 3 months I was running 30 minutes straight and not winded, at 5 mph.

Once I built up my confidence w/ that I started doing intervals which were at drastically more aggressive speeds. The fastest being 8 mph for 1 minute. Then I started going to step class, then weight lifting and then spin. Now I am not overweight but I was not as trim as I would have liked b/c I used to work out before and stopped after having my first child and due to increased demands at work and after work obligations with receptions, networking, etc.

But one day I was motivated to start back on my workout regime and got that book and that is all she wrote. Not only did my waist decrease, so did my pants and shirt sizes. Now I am pregnant and do not run at all b/c my joints are loosening getting ready for this baby and I am afraid of spraining something but once the baby drops I am already looking at jogging strollers so me and my new bambino can be out there hitting the asphalt.

We don't gain the weight in a day nor should we expedct to lose it in a day. It takes dedication, work, time and patience. Just like growing our hair.

ETA: My vitals are excellent, cholesterol about 160-170 with a 30 point increase in my HDLs and decrease in my LDLs (which are directly impacted by activity) and my BP is at 114/72. My physicians are very happy so ladies it doesn't take much to get your body where it needs to be so you live a long and fulfilling and healthy life.

I also got excellent life insurance premium insurance rates b/c they underwrote me as an athlete which prompted much better premiums and improved insurance policy.

I just wanted to add that this is just another method that some of us will use in conjunction with other things. I don't believe for one second that simply wearing this product will give me my abs back!!! I have lost over 22lbs by eating healthier and working out so this will be used along with those 2 things. I know for me personally, seeing results right away gives me encouragement to keep going in order to see more. I don't have the one like Kei's yet however, I have noticed that I am more aware of my posture with the one I do have. Because of that, I don't slouch as much and I feel taller because my body is aligned better. Q

07-01-2007, 02:55 AM

I was in the gym recently and a man was walking very, very slowly on the treadmill, but was sweating like crazy! He has sweat dripping from all over his body. I asked him if he was a natural sweater and he said he put some kind of cream all over his body that makes you sweat. He said it the same thing that women use to remove make-up. Does anyone know what this is?

It is called Albolene moisturizing cleanser. It's the one with the blue lid.

My sister's trainer told her to use it, it really make you sweat.

you can get it at walgreens online or at almost any drugstore.

I still don’t get how people can be so “passionate” about things that they claim DON’T work… :ohwell: It seems to me like it may be something that does work and someone may want to keep it a secret or something… If you really don't think it works just say it doesn't work and move on like other people did on this same thread! I do think that if this is done over a long period of time (maybe years) it could definitely train that area of your body into remaining tight. Plus, if you do it everyday it will probably keep the water weight off.

Anyway, I plan on trying this along with working out regularly.I currently started tonight using saran wrap since that's all I have. I plan on looking into getting a rubber waist cincher when I get paid. I also am trying to work my way into eating more healthy. It’s hard for me to eat healthy when I’m a broke college student!! Any tips on cheap diets would be greatly appreciated.

I have both of these...I mean the sauna suit and the Velcro waist belt. I've used them in the past, but not consistently. I just purchased new pairs and used the sauna suit during one of my daily run/walk on the tread mill...man, there was plenty of sweat in that suit when I was done. It causes dehydration and you're reducing the body's capacity to regulate heat. It's only a temporary fix, the water will come back and you will not sustain the weight loss.

I was getting weird pains in my stomach when I was doing this but I have no idea if this is what caused it so that's why I wanted to read up on it.

I have one of the wraps for the abs that I got from Ross for about $5. It works the same way and it helps with my back. It has velcro on it. Take care Q

When I was working out on a daily, I used a wrap made for the abs and it was amazing.... the results from this thing.

I just came from the gym an hour ago, and I had a new one on, when I took it off I was soak and wet in my mid-section.

like ***Que*** said, go to Ross , Tjmaxx or marshall's they are much cheaper. Got mine from Tjmaxx.

Yeah... I tried it... that sh** don't work...
yeah... you sweat... you have plastic over you...
I measured my thighs 21" before I left my house...
did tredmill & bike and when I came home soaking wet clothes...
and still 21" thighs...

I might just wear compression short when I work out... all that saran wrap...
is gross and messy... and didn't work...

bumping...

this has to be done for a period of time to see results, i wouldn't expect major results in just a day...:ohwell:.

i've done this and it works, and yes, you're all sweaty and stuff, but you'll get results. I did it with trashbags underneath girdles. I like the idea of the industrial strength plastic wrap, though.

I'll revisit this starting Monday.

thanks!

BUMP....who's still doing this?

I noticed Poka said it can cause dehydration. What if I just did it for one week to see what happened?
