Hey CandiceC
I have never used garbage bags, but I assume it would have the same affect if you wrap it tight enough.
However try to use reynolds wrap, because it clings and grips your stomach better.
But remember the harder the plastic the better.
Ok. I see how that would cling better. Thanks!

what do you wrap with. Just the plastic or do you some time of mixture or ointment
Hey chinyere1
No
Wrap your stomach raw. Allow your stomach to sweat. That's all you need.

This is very interesting ladies! But, I guess I don't really understand how wrapping your abs, or loosing "water weight" could have any real long-term staying power. How exactly does this work? And how does getting rid of "water weight" help you maintain a flat stomach for years??
I'm a bit confused...

Good advice, I need to loose the pudge so I will be wearing my plastic wrap everynight religiously..
Hey ladies
I'm sorry, I didn't know anyone replied to this. But YES I have been wrapping my stomach for 7 years.
However, soft reynolds wrap is ok, but the harder the plastic the better. I get mines from a food service company, it's hard plastic.
I believe that this HELPS in training your stomach muscles and molding a waistline.
I have had 2 c-sections and we all know how hard it is to keep a flat stomach after that. But I am a strong believer that plastic wrap is the reason why. :) .
I know fitness experts may NOT agree to this, but IT WORK FOR ME.
SO AGAIN LADIES GET YOU TINEST BIKINIS OUT THIS SUMMER, BECAUSE YOU WILL BE DOING THE DAMN THANG.:)
How often do you do a week and on any given day do you where it all day? I would assume you must keep wearing it for maintenance even after you achieve results. Can break down just little bit further to give us a regime we can possibly follow thanks.

How do you secure the wrap?
I have a problem with weight around my stomach and back. Today someone at my job suggested that I wrap my mid-section in plastic wrap twice each week. I think this is similar to body wraps that spa's use. She said it helps get rid of water weight. I'm willing to try almost anything for a smaller waist. I'm going to wrap my waist at night for three weeks and post results. I need to take before pics I'll post them tommorow. I wrapped my waist tonight to see how hard it could be to do it and when I unwrapped the plastic my waist was sweating. So I'm going to see if it works.
Feel free to join the smaller waist challenge. I read if you mix cayenne pepper and baby oil, rub, then wrap you will oose. But I also heard that water weight comes back.

Hey Crystalicequeen123
Only thing I can give you is my testimony. I have been wrapping for years, forbidding my FAT to see light. :lachen: Something is working, and it ain't diet cause I can get down on some black eye peas, corn bread, mash potatoes, fried chicken, peach cobbler, and pork. And thats for breakfast:lol: .
I want you to try something. Sit down and hold in your stomach as tight as you can. Then slowly proceed to twist to your right, HOLD, then to your left, HOLD. You should have felt pressure.
Now try it without holding in your stomach. Nothing. You feel Nothing.
Though it not as effective as stomach exercises, but it HELPS. Making every movement count.
Ladies, we get so comfortable, we let our bellies go, just do anything it wants to do. But wrapping gives it RESTRICTION, and makes you use stomach muscles that you are not use to uses in simple every day activities.
It may not give us six pack abs, but it reduce chances of our stomachs getter bigger and start us on our way to reducing our waistline.

From what I heard before, this technique helps because when you wrap your stomach tightly, it allows you to always work your muscles. Meaning everytime you decide to let your stomach hang out, the pressure from the wrap will make it uncomfortable and then you will suck your stomach in. After a while, you are doing this all day basically keeping a contraction which helps to make the muscles stronger. HTH Q

I know this is straying off topic slightly - but this is really works. My mom wrapped my stomach after I gave birth and insisted that I wear the wrap daily for 6 weeks. I'm glad that I gave in to her suggestion because my sister gave birth 3 years before I did and refused to wear the wrap and to this day she still can't fully get rid of her post-pregnancy stomach bulge (mind you, her daughter is now 13). I can see the plastic wrap working by training the stomach muscles to some degree.
My mama always did this too. When she died at 72 she still had a 20" waist after 10 pregnancies. My sister is still tiny too with 3 pregnancies. I couldn't wrap though because I had a C-section.

This is interesting. So you just wrap this around your waist and tie with a knot? How long are you supposed to keep it on? During the day as well? Is there another way to restrict your stomach muscles without the plastic wrap that can be worn during the day? God bless you all.

Try to wear it everyday, your stomach is in training. If you don't want to, try to wear it to bed. But its not as effective if you are not moving around.
When I started I was just wearing it to make my clothes fall better. I had just had my daughter, I didn't know it was reducing my waiste.

You don't need to tie a knot. The wrap clings and grips to your body. Wrap your stomach just like you do your foods.

Hmmm that is a good question too. . . bumping

I would think not. The plastic is suppose to make you sweat which would accelerate the process...
