Vaseline, BabyOil, Jergins, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, etc. I hate to feel oily.

Try Khiel's moisturizing lotion with or without SPF15 it doesnt leave dry spots or greasy spots. You can also try fashion fair's moisturizer with or without spf.

Are you taking any supplements? What about drinking plenty of water? The best way to start moisturising skin is from the inside out. If you are dehydrated, your skin will definitely show it. It will start to lose elasticity. Try to increase water and maybe look into taking some sort of EFA (essential fatty acids) like flax seed oil or evening primrose oil.

Is there such a thing as too much flax seed oil or evening primrose oil? I take them twice a day.

I've just started taking a Multi and I hate drinking water. That's what I've been working on. Dry skin runs in the family.

I keep picking and biting at my dry lips. Any product that gentle, moisturizing, and will promote healing would be helpful.

honey vibe, in addition to drinking plenty of water here is another tip for ultra-moisturized lips: before u ever use a chap-stick or even a lipstick just run the tip under cold water (or u can also give it a quick lick) and then apply it. ur lips should feel smooth and retain more moisture for longer. for me, this works wonders!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
oh, and vit. C promotes healing, particularly in the mouth and gum area. HTH!

Good question. I have naturally oily skin. When I first starting taking EPO for PMS relief, my skin got very very oily, but then it evened out again. I started on 1,000mg/day 2yrs ago and now take 1,300mg/day with no problems. Some poeple on the old board complained about excessive EFAs making there skin oily and break out. Once they lowered the dosage, the breakouts and oiliness stopped.

My best discover has been Palmer's Shea Butter! My face has never looked so great, (considering I would get dandruff on my face /forums/images/graemlins/nuts.gif) and it is NOT oily, and has other ingredients too. I suggest that you try that brand of shea butter.

I also have dry skin and I use to have eczema breakouts on my arms and legs so I know a thing or two about moisturizers because I've tried everything under the sun.

The following moisturizers have worked well for me:
Eucerin (expensive but VERY GOOD I used it when I had eczema)
Jergens Ultra Healing (extra dry skin formula)
Aveeno - my current moisturizer along with...
Carol's Daughter (Mango) Cocoa Butter Body Souffle

The Aveeno has two formulas I use the regular strength during the warmer months and the extra relief formula during the winter. The Body Souffle is kind of thick and VERY moisturizing I use this when my skin is really thirsty.

Drinking a lot of water and taking EFAs have helped as well. I haven't had an eczema breakout in almost two years.

HTH

For facial skin, I find that in the winter I have to switch from a water or gel-based cleanser to a more creamy one. And I only use it at night, followed by a toner. In the a.m., I just rinse. This routine seems to work for me because my skin can't take too much cleansing in the wintertime as it gets too dry.

For body moisturizing, I've found that nothing works better than Body Shop body butter. It's expensive but I got some for Christmas and will look into buying a more inexpensive brand when I run out.

For facial dryness(and cause I'm getting older...(did I just say that?)I'm loving Fashion Fair's Fragrance Free Cleasning Creme with aloe vera. I use a warm facial cloth to remove it. After that I use their moisturizing creme with aloe vera.
For my body I use a small amount of a body oil(baby oil is fine) and rub all over my wet skin before patting dry with a towel(it doesn't leave a coating that way), then I follow this with Lubriderm(cause it's not greasy) before I leave the steam of the bathroom and my skin had a chance to dry. Sometimes I use my own homade body butter. Pluse I take evening primrose and flaxseed oil gel caps for both my skin and my hair.
