If you all watch Biggest Loser...I like to think of myself as hardcore, like Jillian..at least with other folks. I'm more of a Bob with myself, but I digress. Every week I will be posting something that we want to achieve for that week. I know everyone doesn't have the time or the will to be all gung ho 1000% and thats fine. But I'm hoping that everyone will at least check in once a week and what not.
1)For those of you with YIM I'm Moniseni (send me a msg so I can add you to my list)so I can bug you :-).
2) Start thinking of your goals ie what you want me to hold you accountable for ie eating better(specific examples ie no candy, or under XXX calories), workout(how much cardio/wt). I'd like to have this by Wednesday at the latest.
3)Anything you need help with or have questions..I'm no expert(at all whatsoever) but I may be able to point you in the correct direction.
4.Team name - we need a name, I'm not creative, so I will let the team think of one :-).
5)Email addresses - I'd like everyones email address...some stuff is easier to email then post here or pm. If you could use the email function on here to email me that would work.
Thats all for now.

Hey! Glad to be apart of team 3. I will definately post once a week. Im not too creative myself so I really dont have any suggestions for a team name. As far as goals, I would like to work out atleast 5x a week(cardio) I dont want to add weight training till i am at my goal weight.
Ill send you a pm with my email.
Im soooooooooooooo pumped up!!!! :)

I'm excited too...LOL.
I think you should rethink the WT aspect, but I understand where you are coming from.
Oh one more thing for the team is to take measurements and pictures...just for yourself. You will wish you had them after the fact. Its hard to look at them..at least for me....but sometimes we are the last ones to notice our own weightloss so I do think it would be beneficial. Also SQ listed a website you can use your measurements to estimate your bodyfat% which is another good way to track your progress.

Courtesy of ScorpioQT - Here is the website you can plug your measurements into to estimate your bodyfat%, I wouldn't take it to heart, but it is good for tracking.
http://www.active.com/calculators/bodyfat_calc_togo.cfm
Also there is fitday if you want to track your food.
www.fitday.com
Actually that leads me to something else. It might be a good idea to track your food for a few days if you are just now starting. Its amazing the difference between what we think we ate and what we actually consumed.

Hey, Ladies! I am so happy to be a part of this group. When I get home tonight, I'll post my goals, take pictures, and have someone do my measurements. I've been doing Turbo Jam for a few weeks, but I'm stuck at only a 4-pound weight loss, so I need to do something differently.
As far as a name for the group goes, I'll throw out a few off the top of my head...
1. Shape Shifters
2. Lady Losers
3. Weigh Less Women
4. The Fit Squad
I tried.... :look:
I'll check back in later tonight. Good luck, everyone!

*waving*,:)
I really like Shape Shifters as well!!! so I vote for that too.
I'm really excited about this and am definitely going to be giving 1000% I'm sick of not sticking to my weight loss, so this is encouraging.
Here's my plan of action:
I think what works best for me in terms of eating is moderation, so I'm not going to say NO to any type of food, but I will limit myself.
I plan on going to the gym Mon-Fri, and doing at least 30 minutes on the elliptical, (this is not a challenge for me. I've been doing this since the beginning of the year and have been fine with it)
I'm always on LHCF so I'll be here everyday!!
Also, do we weigh in or something??

Are we all getting our workouts in?
Ok I'm doing Jenny Craig so I don't need help with diet. I need help with exercise and water!! (especially water)!!
I can't get all those measurement (I live alone and would feel weird asking someone to measure my wrist  ) but I was measured when I started Jenny so I can get those and my percent body fat. I would like to set a goal to exercise 3-5x/ week for cardio (treadmill, bike, and exercise tapes/cds) and 2x/week for strength training (Michael Thermond's 6 wk body makeover)
Good luck fellow Shape Shifters!!

Hey SS!
I was able to go to the gym. I almost didn't go cause I was so busy with school work but then I realized that June 6th is only 4 months away!! (That's a special date for me, I'm going somewhere).
stay motivated ladies.

I bought one of those myotape thingies from a Vitamin store, basically it is a tape in a loop so you can self measure very easily and it was pretty cheap.
Start drinking that water. It gets easier ..believe me...I used to drink Coke 24/7. Just start small, and get you some lemon.

I am very proud of myself today....I went to the gym last night and did 1 hour of cardio and then a class called "No Excuses" its a kick but class using the weight machines and mat work for abs and in between you run approximately a miles worth of laps around the gym.....I love this class because on my own I would not tackle the weight machines .....and I know that in order for your body to optimally burn fat all day you need muscles
I have mastered the elliptical machine my next challenge is to work up to 30 minutes on the evil stair master

10 Tiny Changes for Big Weight Loss
Turbo JamTM trainer Chalene Johnson recommends taking baby steps to eat more healthfully. If you "slip," get immediately back on track. Never let a vacation or a special holiday be an excuse to overdo it the entire time. Go ahead, enjoy the occasional indulgence, but keep it reasonable. Here are 10 tiny changes you can make for big weight loss.
1. Wait 2 minutes. Cravings will disappear after two minutes if you walk away and turn your attention elsewhere.
2. W.I.W.M. When you really crave something unhealthy, answer this question: "What do I Want More," that piece of chocolate cake, or a body I feel proud of? And on rare occasions, it's okay to pick the chocolate cake!
3. No one's perfect. Don't allow one bad choice to result in bingeing the rest of the day, or falling back into old habits.
4. Focus. Make eating purposeful, not something mindless to do while watching TV, driving, or sitting in front of the computer. Whenever you put food in your mouth, try to engage all of the senses in the pleasure of nourishing your body.
5. Don't skip breakfast. Start eating a filling breakfast, but one that's lower in fat. It will help you eat fewer total calories throughout the day.
6. Veggies. The majority of your plate should have veggies and/or fruit on it at both lunch and dinner.
7. See what you eat. Eat your food off of a plate instead of straight out of a jar, bag, or box.
8. Don't buy it. Stop buying the food you snack on all day. Just eliminate the temptation.
9. Eat more fruit. A person who gets enough fruit in their diet doesn't have a raging sweet tooth.
10. Watch what you drink. Cut back on or cut out high-calorie drinks like soda, sweet tea, lemonade, and especially alcohol. People have lost weight by making just this one change.
