Okay, here is my problem. I had a baby back in September. Well, my whole pregnancy I only gained 10 pounds, which was great. :yep: Well, after I had my baby I was still looking good, up until about a month ago. I stepped on the scale and almost passed out. I've put the 10 pounds back on. So anyway, I've been watching what I eat, but not getting any exercise. My problem is this. When I get home from work, I gotta get the kids fed, help with homework and get myself bathed. By the time I get to sit down, it's already 9:00. What can I do to drop some of this weight with my limited time? The only time I can actually work out is on weekends, but that's not going to be enough for me to get where I need to be. I've been taking these diet pills called Zantrex-3. But after about 3 days of taking them, I get sick of swallowing pills. I need some serious help. Summer is right around the corner. I can't have fly hair and a jacked up body. :nono:

Do you have a lunchbreak during the day? I know a lot of women who do their workout during their lunchbreak. They eat their lunch for 15-20 minutes, then walk the rest of the time. Would that work for you. Also, stay away from the diet pills, they'll only mess up your metabolism.

I feel your pain. I have 4 kids, three of them are school age. I was getting up at 5:30 working out for thirty minutes. I work at a University and there are really nice facilited here on campus so I go there everyday after work for 45 minutes. I also just started working out with a trainer today for an hour at lunch. I go at lunch three days a week while the gym is empty and eat lunch when I get back to my desk.
This plan still gives me enought time to get home by 6 in order to cook, clean, do homework with the kids, bath them and myself. I am usually done around 9 as well.
You just really have to make time. I was making all kinds of excuses as to why I couldn't do it, but I have really made a constant change and I am sticking to it!
Hope this helps.

Thanks roz...I guess I could start walking the second half of my lunch break. We got a lot of construction going on around our building, but that's okay. That sounds like a plan.
tess...I wish I could make it to my side of town by 6:00. I'd be clicking my heels with joy. Atlanta traffic is a hot mess, especially when I don't get off work until 5:30. But I'm definitely going to try and work some type of exercise in my daily plan.
Thanks for the tips ladies.

I did the same thing with my first child. They both weighed a little over 6 pounds. One was 6lbs 2oz and the other was 6lbs 4oz. Sadly enough, my son is the one that ruined my stomach this time too. I got stretch marks for days! :ohwell: Anyway, I guess I didn't gain a lot of wieght because I walked 3-4 days a week twice a day. I went out on maternity leave in July so that I would have more time to myself. So I had PLENTY of time to walk around the subdivision. I guess that's how I kept the weight down. Now I'm back to working and the time is just not there like it was when I sat home for all those months. :nono:

Can you try to do 30 min in the morning?
Can you invest in a treadmill? It helps. It is right there and you jump on while the kids are eating or even do a low/no sweat walk on it in the a.m.
I know getting a treadmill is not for everyone, but it has really helped me get some activity in when I don't have time to do my Firm workouts or my Pilates.
Hey, Nordictrack lets you make payments on them you just have to put it together yourself.
I fix/plan all meals on the weekend so that it only takes a few min to warm them up during the week. That helps save time.
Also you can move dinner back 30 min and get in a good 30 min workout before everyone eats.

Thanks for the tips Honey. I've been talking to my husband about getting a treadmil. We only have one car right now, so that is the main reason my time is limited. I gotta pick him up from work. He doesn't get off till 6:30! Then I gotta pick up the kids...come home, fix dinner, get my 5 year old in the shower, blah, blah, blah. LOL! Now if only I could drag my behind out of bed earlier, that would help me out a lot. I just need to get into the habit of getting up early. I've never been a morning person. Dad use to drag me out of bed every day when I was in high school!
I like the idea of premaking my meals on the weekend. That's a great idea. I could freeze them in the aluminum pans and just throw them in the oven to warm them up. That would free up some of my time. Thanks!

It is hard to get up so early with your schedule, though. You need your rest do you can do it all again the next day! :)
Yeah making meals in advance helps, a lot. Even if you just do it for just 2 or 3 days it is good. I have to or I would never be able to exercise.

;) :p Have you thought about resistance ropes. I have a pair at home and there easy to use, there also very inexpensive. Its kinda of like having a mini gym in your house because they allow you to do an all body workout while listening to music. You can do it sitting down watching tv pretty much anywhere you want.
