Hey Ladies,
I was just wondering if there are any hormonal pills for acne. I have been really breaking out bad lately (well for awhile) and I think its because of hormone changes.
I really take care of my skin and it still breaks out. Im only 21 so maybe its still puberty (I Dont Know) I must have spent over $800 for products that dont do nothing for me. Any tips, suggestions, regimens that you think may work.

My Current Regimen

Morning
1. Cleanse with "Cetaphil (normal to oily skin)"
2. Apply "Apple Cider Vingar" as a Toner on a pad
3. Then I use a "2.5 %" BP Cream
4. Followed by a "Serious Skin Care" Moisturizer

Night
1. Exfoliate with a Brush; Oil Cleansing Method (with Castor and Evoo)
2. Followed By Steps 2-4

Some birth control pills have the wonderful side affect of helping clear up acne. But, up to you if you want to go that route.

On the other end of that, talk to a dermatologist so they can assess whats going on.

You may grow out of it, however, most women have some form of hormonal acne due to the influx of monthly hormones until after they reach menopause (its pretty normal unfortunately)

Either way you look at it, its still a trip to a doctor somewhere.

My oiliness and acne has gotten completely out of control since I got off OrthoTricyclen. I've been off of it over six months. I'm going back to the gyno to get another prescription. I've learned my lesson. I still had acne while on the pill but no where near as bad as I do now.

I don't know about hormonal pills, but I'm 21 and have a recent...2 month or so attack of pretty bad acne. I started taking Herpanacine pills from GNC (but you can get them alot cheaper online) and it's clearing up lovely. It has lots of antioxidants... Before I tried this I was doing the acne cure with ice and benzyl (sp?) peroxide, now I just wash my face with oil and take 2-3 pills a day. HTH!
