I just recently bought this 2 step peel after following it for about a year... Well, I used it and WOW! I tested it on the back of my hand first and I couldn't believe the smoothness. I could see and feel the immediate difference. I put it on my face and it was baby bottom soft after I was done. However I didnt see a difference in my face and was disappointed...But my mother said she saw a difference. THe next day tho, I really saw it and I couldn't stop looking in the mirror and grinin' :D My skin was luminous and resurfaced and just pretty!
This philosophy peel is a little pricey but worth it. I splurged on it as a treat to myself. It's $65 at Sephora...

Girl, tell me about it! They will send samples and I got one and immediately bought it. Oil of Olay's is similar, but not nearly as good. I actually have a label on my 'cuss jar' to save up for my next one. This stuff is fierce!

Where did you get your sample from? It sounds really nice :)

I just went to the philosophy website. Emailed them and asked for a sample. They sent it out promptly.

Thanks! I have been surfing around looking at other reviews for this stuff and people seem to LOVE it. I think I might try it.

I tried this before. For some reason this 2 step system broke me out. However, I tried Philosophy's Micro Delivery Pads, and they are the bomb. They come 60 in a jar for $35 and I  it!
BTW, for INCREDIBLE skin, try Dr. Brandt's Microdermabrasion in a Jar. Its an Allure beauty award winner. If you try this, there's no looking back. Sephora will give you samples.

I haven't tried Dr. Brandt but I'm happy with Philosophy for the moment...

Another thing about the Philosophy pads is, since they are in "pad" form, you can also give yourself a "peel" on other areas of your body. For instance I use one pad for my face, neck, decollete' (sp?) and back of my hands (I'm 26 and want to fight the aging process now, lol)
Hope you have continued success w/ the Philosophy!

Oh yeah. I have used this for a few years now. It is out of this world. Only problem is the price. I may try Oil Of Olay's version next time since it is less.

I love this stuff too. Since I've been using it I've been able to save lots of money on salon treatments!

I love the whole Philosophy line. I've been using it for about 3 years now and it's the only line that has kept me from having breakouts. I have a few packs of the microdelivery peel left but I was thinking of going with the Oil of Olay version after I'm done.
I'm also trying to transition and use organic products only so I'm still searching for a peel that's similar w/ natural ingredients.
Okay ladies, you're going to have to skool an old gurl! Is this Philosophy stuff a peel that will give you professional salon-type results?
I'm much older than many of you, so while I used to have some serious acne problems back in the day, that's not my issue today. I didn't consider myself blessed back then when I had very oily skin, but I can tell you that it truly became a blessing as I got older.
When I do a close-up in the mirror my skin doesn't look particularly smoothe. Luckily I don't have any indentations from past acne, it's just not as smoothe texture feeling wise and visually if you look at it closely. I also have a darker area on one side of my face.
I wanted to know if either of these products would produce the desired results. Are there any items in this product line that would do the same thing but is designed for the older skin? I really like the idea of being able to use pads all over, but I would be extremely nervous about using it on my neck. It usually is the area where you can really see how old someone is! I'm not experiencing any telltale signs there now, and I don't want to create any either.
Can I use this over a long weekend and all the the peeling will be over, or will this take more time?
Thanks for all of your help.

Hi Tal,
As I stated earlier I have only had success using the pads, so I can only give you information on that. No, this product does not have the severity of using a salon or "in office" dermatologist peel. I was told that the pads have 10% lactic acid, so this will give you a very gentle, but effective peel effect. In a nutshell, no, you do not have to set aside a weekend to do this. I use them every night with great success :) Of course you know, YMMV. The pads are so convenient, and incorporate easily into your skincare regime, b/c you just wipe where you want, and throw them away ;)
For reference my skintype is oily & acne prone, so glycolic acid is essential in keeping my skin clear. Its also worth noting, that many people who begin using a glycolic acid product for the first time initially experience break-outs. This is believed to be a result of the glycolic acid exfoliating deeply and causing the skin to "purge". Hopefully, someone who has used the 2 step system successfully can chime in and give you info on that.
Also an additional benefit of the pads is that you get 60 in a jar for $35, and the 2 step system is $65. But I guess it depends on your personal preference. Either product you use will definitely yield, smoother, dewey & clear skin. Good luck and HTH!

Philosophy also has another peel system, the Oxygen Peel for 45 bucks...Its a different delivery system, but its cheaper and recommended for acne and oily skin, I believe. (Dont quote me, this is from memory) check out the Philosophy site, and Drugstore.com, because they offer reviews!
