Hi Ladies! I have been watching a lot of plastic surgery and weight loss shows lately and I have noticed that a lot of people are having full body lifts to remove extra skin. Two of the managers at my job also have this problem. One of them only lost 30 pounds (which a not a drastic weight loss) and she has sagging skin that she wants to have removed on her stomach.I was just wondering what you can do to prevent extra skin with weight loss. Also, is there any way you can you tell if you will have sagging skin if you lose weight?

I think it is really hard to tell, some people can lose 50 and get very tight while others will have lose skin. If you do not weight train I think it is more likely for you to have lose skin.

I'd say just make sure to do weightlifting while dieting, so you're building muscle while losing the fat.
I'm having this sort of issue with my calves. Not hanging skin, but loose skin. Gotta work my calves more I guess...

Age, gender, and genetics are factors in sagging skin. If they weight train and lose weight slowly, this can reduce the chance of having sagging skin. I have a friend that lost 155lbs and she had major sagging in the beginning of the year. She did cardio only the first 2 years of her major weight loss, then this year she added weight training. Her sagging problem diminished I would say about 40%, from where she started. She stated that her doctor told her it will take her two years or more to get rid of it (most of it anyways) or she can cut it off. Her skin did not have time to adjust to the drastic changes.
