I am looking for online and retail stores where I can purchase clothing in petite sizes. Currently the only places I know of online are Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic. I just found out today that Petite Sophisticate/Casual Corner Stores will be closing in Jan 2006. It is getting harder and harder for me to find nice clothes that actually fit my small frame. It looks like I may even have to start making a few out of town trips to buy clothing every year.

Express, New York and Company, Macy's, Dillards, BR (you said it already but I love them so much I had to say it again).
Sometimes I buy the Average/Regular length clothes and bring them to a cheap tailor. Other times, I do the hemming and tucking myself. A Regular size 2 in the stores is the same thing as a size Petite 4-- so I'd buy a ton of clearance rack size 2Reg and take them to the alteration shop.

I like the petite sizes at J.Jill, Talbots, Eddie Bauer, and Lord & Taylor.
I didn't know all Petite Sophisticate's were closing. I was walking past one this morning, and saw the "Everthing Must Go" sign, but I thought it was just that one store that was closing. I was never crazy about their clothing, but I'll stop by to see what they have left.

I usually go out of town and shop at Dillards for petite clothing. I also find nice petite items at Talbots. The semi-annual sale should start on December 26th. Liz Claiborne carries a lot of Petite items. JC Penney has a good selection and Kohl's has a smaller selection.
Good Luck!

I would also add Express (fits perfect). I get their jeans and pants in a size 2 Short and feel like a supermodel.

I understand what you are saying. I have a difficult time too and besides the stores already mentioned there are department stores... Nordstroms, Macys, Belks, etc. Still, when I buy clothes from Express, Banana Republic, dept stores and other places I usually end up going to a seamstress anyway and have the clothes altered to fit me perfectly. You can try this too. My seamstress does a great job. Nothing is better than a button down shirt taken in to fit perfectly and nothing is worse than pants where the back hem is constantly walked on. ;)
Besides the stores already mentioned in this thread, as well as some of the boutiques like Rainbow for petite sizes, I also shop online at stores like Victoria's Secret and I'm on their email list for sales. Some of their prices are really good (less than a lot of department stores) with free shipping over $100. www.victoriasecret.com (http://www.victoriasecret.com).
BTW, their fashion show airs December 6 on CBS.
