EEEWWWWWW!!!!! Thanks for this info. As I read it, I realized that the salon I visit does use the same stick all the time, too!!

That is disgusting. So basically this woman has the disease for life cuz this salon was too cheap to use new stick? I would sue.

I think even if you use a new stick, that stick is constantly being dipped in the wax even for the same person. You would have to use a new stick everytime you dip in the wax otherwise the wax is contaminated. This comes at a good time when I went on Sunday and I noticed how she used the same stick, scissors and tweezers with out sterlizing on everyone. Some people have bumps on there face and if it is open or pussing eeww. I knew something could happen from this but I didn't think Herpes. I am freshly waxed I am going to try to maintain plucking them.

Alrighthy then....that's so disgusting, but it's possible. I have to find a eyebrow threader in the Austin area, any one know where can I go...

When I was back in NY I always got my eyebrows threaded. Now I am on Philly for school and I can't find ANYONE TO DO IT! So I have been waxing and I hate it.

ewwwwww. I'm so glad that I don't get my eyebrows waxed anymore (especially after having them burn my skin), thank goodness for threading.

I had a close call in 2000. My bf wanted to clear it all off down there. So I went to what I thought was a reputable salon in a ritzy neighborhood for my first wax ever. I contracted a fungus. At first my GYN did not know what to make of it, she was about to give me a biopsy after the 3d visit and then the culture came back a fungus. The wax was contaminated.

I have never waxed since that day. I thread my eyebrows and I shave down there, vry scary. There are no laws regulating nail salons.

I didn't realize that so many ladies on the board get threaded! I thread my brows too and I wax my own legs.
