What are you guys doing with your hair when and after you workout. I have been working out all week now. My hair is getting worse by the day. I sweat so much when I am done working out and showering. My hair is so damp..
It is better for me to workout in the morning. So, I dont want to stop that. I wear my hair in spiral/drop curls and just let the fall for about a week. It usually lasts me about 2 weeks but. I am starting to get scared. I dont want to braid my hair again or anything like that. I would like to keep wearing this style..
Any Ideas? Maybe there is a secret shower cap or something you guys can let me in on..
Any tips would be great.. Trying to lose about 100 lbs....
Thanks

I would suggest that you wash your hair after each workout. If you don't want to use shampoo, at least conditioner wash to get the salt from the sweat out of your hair and off your scalp. If you don't remove the sweat from your hair and scalp, you might experience breakage.
I wonder if using a Rinse Free Shampoo and Conditioner would help? Organic Root Stimulator has a dry shampoo called Herbal Cleanse.

I work out in the morning and I don't wash my hair after each workout. I just can't...I don't have the time and my relaxed hair can't take the manipulation, which on my hair is much worse than sweating.
I put my hair up while excercising so I don't have sweat running down my strands. By the time I've cooled down, the perspiration has stopped flowing and I let my hair down so the air can reach and dry my roots. As long as I've used a setting lotion, I still have some curl on the ends.

Thanks for that.. Cause I know it is not feasible for me to watch my hair everyday. When do you put the setting lotion in your hair? after the workout or before?

I use the setting lotion when I wash and set my hair. If I'm not going to rollerset, I'll just use a leave-in which feels great, but if you want some curls past that first worksout you should also use a setting lotion.

I workout every other day and I usually keep my hair tied up. My roots EXPLODE if I don't. I'm not sure what the recourse would be with a curly style...probably LuvSlave's suggestion. If I'm wearing a wash and go, I'll just pull it back off of my face.
When I started working out heavily, I experienced a lot of breakage from the salt in my hair. The trick for me is
1. Spritzing my hair w/ distilled water & leave-in mix ~OR~ oiling my scalp with WGO (before the work out)
2. Washing my hair at LEAST once a week, better every 3 or 4 days
When I started being consistent with these two things, my breakage stopped, and my hair stopped looking so dry after the perspiration dried.
I also think it's necessary to clarify more often when you're working out daily.
