I have a couple of friends who were successful losing 30-40 lbs a piece using this method. I know one of them paid the full price for her custom program (whatever that was). The other had her consultation and opted for the alternative method -- to substitute the foods and/or shakes using advice of the program. I call it the "cheapie" method, and she was successful. I think it is more difficult-- takes more discipline-- to do the cheapie, since everthing is not at your disposal.
The program works like any other, as long as you maintain the mindset to keep it up. Full price friend kept weight off for at least a year, gained a little back, then became aware of the weight gain and started back with the principles: being mindful of portions and content. She also exercises as time permits. She successfully lost weight.
What I see in common for both is they had tremendous support! 1/3 to 1/2 of their classmates were so inspired by the weightloss that they all jumped in doing the "cheapie" method. Needless to say, that was a very slim, fly-looking graduation class this past year! Good look with your journey. I'm beginning one of my own.

Let me begin by saying that I have not done the program, so I don't want you to think I'm leading by example:D . Cheapie is a name I called it b/c it fit into our budgets. If I'm not mistaken, after your consultation, you get a "custom" profile according to .......... your lifestyle habits. Like what are your weaknesses, how you lose weight/ conquer goals, trigger foods, etc. etc. etc. Basically, you determine how much you wanna lose and your plan is based upon a reasonable time to lose that weight. There are some foods and shakes that go with it and you can get a detailed printout of your meals.
You're right, it's weight watchers type of program. (If it is still like I was told.)
Cheapie is substituting the foods from the grocery store, rather than their pre-made products. My understanding is that they tell you how to do that. Example: avoiding carb products the first few days, plenty water, what fruits to use to get same results as what is in their shakes. I hope this is making sense. It has been 2-3 years since I learned about this program, so I'm going by memory.
I don't remember the exact details, but I do know the premise is the same as most other weight loss programs: detox and flush your body first for about 3 days, then you put in controlled portions of nutrients [food] thereafter, every 3 hours. You'll lose weight off the strength of that alone. Add exercise and ain't no stoppin ya!
Gosh I'm wordy! yap yap yap:lol:

I had a friend some years back who did it for a while and it really worked for her. She eventually stopped because she couldn't keep up with the cost, but while she was doing it she steadily lost weight.
I have another friend that just started the program a couple of weeks ago and she's losing already! She's working out as well, but the folks at L.A. Weightloss flat-out told her that she didn't have to if she didn't want to and she would still lose weight.

It worked out great for my mother. She lost about 35 pounds and she felt and looked fantastic. I really encouraged her to do it when she told me about the basic principles of the program. It's not about quick weightloss or crash diets that you can't maintain. The program teaches you all about how and what to eat. It doesn't restrict your calories severely like a lot of programs I've seen on the market, but rather teaches you about portion control and WISE, HEALTHY food choices.
It is pricey, but I think it's more expensive to take your health for granted.

I was trying to decide on rather i wanted to continue to do Weight Watchers or to try LA Weight loss...i know money wise the cheapest for me is Weight Watchers(well kind of if i dont join the meetings) but just trying to get a figure on how much it is???

with LA Weightloss, the cost depends on the amount of weight you want to lose...it's $7 per week, but you don't pay weekly...they figure out the total number of weeks it will take to reach your goal and then calculate how much it will cost you, then you pay that full amount up front. For instance, if you want to lose 20lbs, that would be approximately 10 weeks [losing 2lbs a week on average] so the cost would be $70 plus any applicable fees [please don't quote me on the exact amounts...this is just an example]. Keep in mind that if you use their products, you will have to purchase those as well as you go along...when you go for the initial consultation, they should explain this to you...i went for a consultation first and then took a few days to consider it before i joined...i liked what i heard and the program seemed realistic for me...my advice would be get as much info as you can from a counselor, think about it and see if it's really worth it to you...any weight loss program will work if you do it correctly and stick with it...this just fit my lifestyle better...it's more of a lifestyle change to me, which i really like...
By the way, for anyone who is interested, I don't know if this is a nationwide special, but at my branch we're having a "family and friends" enrollment period, so if you join through a current customer, you can enroll for half price. HTH!
