Please help me find a nude

lip look! I get so frustrated because I have always wanted a nude (pouty, glossy) lip look, but I can never find the correct color. For the most part I only use light colors on my lips like ooh baby and a clear lipgloss (i dont use alot of makeup - maybe eyeliner gloss and mascara), but I have never been able to achieve the look that I always see in the mags...I am a dark skinned sister with gold undertones, so the colors I choose are usually golds and beiges...Help me please!!

MAC makes a color called C-Thru that is super nude and super sheer. It's a lipglass and it gives great shine with a lot of nudity.
I'd have to see the tone of your skin to give you a better assessment, but I'm a honey caramel color and I don't care for the way this color looks on me b/c it makes my lips look a little ghostly b/c it's so nude. I'll usually wear it over Nymphette or Viva Glam V.

I find that C-Thru looks drab on me also. It's abeautiful nude on my cousin who's lips lightly pigmented.

DO you have highly pigmented lips?

These are the colors I find that's nude on me but never gives that washed out/ghostly look. I have highly pigmented lips.

I find MAC's Revealing to be very nice. MAC's Prrr and Enchantress have pink and peach tones but shows up nude on my lips. Those are my all time favorite nudes. Beaux is a Lustreglass but shows up nude with a bit of shimmer. Very nice paired with Chestnut lipliner. Finally some great nudes that's fairly priced are Milani's Whisper, Secret and Loreal's Color Juice in Caramel Creme.

I would suggest Mac Gelee's. The color Moistly is too die for. It's your natural lip color with more ummmph!

French kiss lip gloss by Victoria Secret is another one of my favorites. It has gold undertones.

Have you thought of filling your lips in with lip pencil then using clear gloss? That is what I do. Cheaper than buying ready-made.

Try MAC Honeyflower lipstick with a chestnut or cork liner and either clear gloss or snowgirl gloss.

DITTO on the MAC Revealing. I PROMISE you will love it! I even plan to trade in one of my older MAC lipsticks for a second tube of this. Add the Chestnut lip liner and anything will work with this look.

As some mentioned in this thread, MAC's Revealing is great. I would also suggest Bobbi Brown's glosses in Buff, Petal and Suede. Petal is a bit pinkish, but these are all sheer glosses that can give you that nude effect. Also try MAC's lipstick in Honeyflower - my all time favorite lipstick from them. And Philosphy's Intuition. Again, this is a lipstick, but you kinda have to play around with combos I find to get the result you want. I use a brown liner (Bobbi Brown chocolate) and blend it like crazy. So it is a gradual fade from the outside of the lip in. Then I use a lipstick like the honeyflower, and use a nude gloss mostly in the middle. That usually does it for me. Or I use the Bobbi Brown glosses by putting them on first and then lining my lips lightly. That gives a very simply nude gloss look as well.

One thing I have found, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to duplicate the magazine looks, because most of the time they are acheived through digital re-touching. LOL!

mac's revealing is great! but i think mad cap is a perfect nude, it blends perfectly with the skintone without looking milky.:)

The perfect nude for me right now is Cork Liner, Honey Flower Lipstick, Oyster Girl lipglass.

I thought I was the only one that loved MAC Revealing. That's my staple. I also love Loreal HIP's Pixie.

if u r nc42-nc5o range and even nw40-43 u can use underplay lipstick with mad cap lipglass. use hodgepodge or cork lipliner or cushy lipliner is nice too. if you want a lip color nude u can use viva glam v lipstick and lipglass.
