Agreed. I have not purchased from there in 4 years. They need a new designer.

You guys are right. The Gap sells the same stuff every year. I do go there for my basic casual pieces, but I only buy their clothes on sale because I too feel they are overpriced.

I seriously think that GAP inc is trying to phase out GAP stores.

BR is for the young sophisticated types
Fourth and Town is for the older woman
Old navy snaggs anybody looking for the thrill of a trend

Where does that leave gap? All the real preppies go to Jcrew.

i thought i was the only one who noticed that they seem to always have the same things like plain shirts.

GAP never fails to get me every season! They run those cute commercials with the catchy little soundtracks and celeb endorsers, so I go in to see what's new in the store and for the most part, it's NOTHING!!

I did buy a bag from them earlier this year, but clothes? No way.

For basic, t-shirt and khaki type stuff I just go to Old Navy.

I like Gap, but I like simple clothes. I do agree, there prices are a bit pricey. When I do buy from the GAP it is off the clearance rack. I have learned a secret, Old Navy has the same stuff, the materials are just different. (I used to work at Old navy)

i never did understand the obsession with gap. BORING!!! They're jeans are great, but $60 for a pair. Everything else is just plain.

lmao i can't believe i'm agreeing... GAP IS boring, but I love their jeans! they fit me the best. I can always count on them fitting and lasting me a long time. I also buy a couple of blazers there, and maybe a couple of sweaters, but as far as skirts, shirts, dresses, etc... NO WAY.

I'd rather head over to BR.

I have also been purchasing clothing from Banana Republic lately.

I LOVE their jeans. Old navy's quality is a little subpar for my taste and the fit doesn't quite compare to GAP.

Gap was never a trendy type store. They are a store for the basics. Always been. The last time they tried to go trendy(britney spears era) they lost money. They went back to their first and simple format.
but..Yes it is overpriced.
I only buy from them when they have really good sales. The jeans go down to like 14.99, sometimes 9.99. I get my coats from there.

Oh my goodness, you ain't never lied. They are gettign worse and worse each year and Old Navy is stepping up their game big time! I also find that Banana Republic is falling off a bit. I only go there to buy their accessories now.

i love the gap for their jeans and that's about it. i can't even fit their shirts or sweaters anymore, talk about vanity sizing!

I love GAP. I have so many cute skirts, dresses and tops from there, not to mention coats. BR is too expensive for me and Old Navy's quality is for the birds, although I have found a few things there in the past that I still wear.

I'm a GAP girl...most of my wardrobe at the moment is from that store. The outfit I'm wearing today happens to be GAP. It's a cute halter top with a flowy cotton skirt...I didn't intend to be dressed head to toe in GAP, but the pieces happen to look good together. I bought the skirt in '04, and I can't remember when I bought the top, but they still look fresh. I like GAP because I can get several years wear out of the pieces...which is a good thing because I haven't been shopping at all this season, but I look good...lol.

I also rarely pay full price for their clothes, I get emails from them so I check out their online sales as well...good deals.
