How do you know when God is talking to you?

In my experience, God has spoken to me when I have really laid everything aside to seek Him in prayer. Its like when I'm praying, He will interrupt me, usually with a word of correction like "what you said this morning was wrong" or with a word of encouragement like "be strong". He also speaks to me through circumstances or other people, it's like someone or something will confirm something or answer a question that I had been asking God. But in all things, I try to be sure that it corresponds to the Bible, otherwise it cannot be God.

He speaks to me in various ways, such as through other people, song, or even through the tv. Also, when I feel convicted about something, I know it's definitely Him.

Most of the time when God speaks I know because it can be confirmed in the scriptures. For those times when I am in doubt I get to a quiet place and pray and I'm not ashamed to ask for a sign like Gideon (can't say I always get one but He has His way of getting me to trust).
