BEAUTY & STYLE
Skin : Smooth As Silk
Do you remember your Grandmother smelling of rosewater and glycerine? I'll bet she did - it's been a part of women's beauty regimens for ages, and you can still use it today. Women have used this product for years for chapped skin and to keep it moisturized, and if you rub it on your legs after shaving, they'll feel smooth as silk.
One capful of glycerine in your bathwater while you're soaking with leave you with soft, silky skin, and if you add a capful to your bottle of hand or body lotion, it will add moisture and softness as well. For a little extra oomph, add around 20 drops of lavender oil to your lotion (12-16 ounce bottle), too.
If you want to kick up the conditioning power of your hair conditioner, you can add three capfuls to your bottle, and use as normal. Your locks will be REALLY soft! Take it easy when adding glycerine to your conditioner, though. Too much will make your hair greasy looking and oily feeling, and if you're prone to that already, you might want to skip it.
A bottle of glycerine in its pure form looks something like honey. You can find it pretty much anywhere - drugstores, grocery stores, Wal-Mart, or Boots for the UK etc. - and it's fairly inexpensive. Shouldn't cost you more than about two dollars for four ounces, and it lasts a long time, as a little bit goes a long way.
