and i like it. my face felt squeaky clean after washing. normally after i wash i would use alcohol and witch hazel on a piece of cotton to further clean and i would still see dirt. after using the sulfur soap i wiped my face and didnt see any dirt. I hope this will be a keeper. thanks.

Madison--

I'm glad you like it! It IS definitely a keeper. Another tip: It works wonders on back pimples. I use it with those bath mitts to scrub my back (especially during the summer) or whenever I get a pimple or two on my back. A couple of days of that and the zits are GONE! It keeps my back extremely clear! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i get pimples on my chest. i've been growing more hair there lately. trust, i have been rubbing the soap on that area as well and those suckers are drying up as well.

also where did you buy your dady johoba shampoo. i have been all over the bronx looking for it and no one has it.

thanks again

The only place I've ever seen the Dady Jojoba shampoo (and the place where I discovered it) is at Rama Beauty Supply on Amsterdam Ave and 105th Street.

If you go, it is kept on a low shelf to the immediate right when you enter the door. It costs $2.99.

What is the name of the sulfur soap that you used? And where did you buy it?

I looked all over including Rite-Aid and I didn't find this Dr. Colloada soap. The only soap I found was the African pride Sulfur soap. I will continue my search.

Dido111,
When I was up in DR land (Harlem/Upper West side) being a product junkie (buying the Daddy Jojoba shampoo) I found the soap. Try a heavily Hispanic populated area. I found it around 96th & Broadway at a Rite Aid.

I am currently using sulfur soap with some success. I am also using DDF 3%Sulfur and 10% BP nightly. I have noticed that my skin is slowly clearing up. I am also using DDF 10% Glycolic Acid toner. (Yes, I have some serious skin issues!) /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Exactly what has cleared up, acne, discoloration, etc? I'm asking because I am considering trying those same products that you named, along with the DDF Sulfer mask. Also, how long did it take before you started seeing results?

Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I did not see your questions. The acne cleared up in like 2 weeks of use. The skin discoloration cleared up in about a month. My friends and family have noticed that my skin looks better and commented. /forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif

I tried the sulfur soap as well. First i purchased some off-brand soap online fo $3.50 s&h included, b/c i was tired of looking around. It was okay, it cleaned more than my usual Dove so i used it all and then i came across the Dr collado. I bought one bar and think i'll be re-stocking with 2-3 more bars!
Its very drying, but its making my skin gleam! My skin feels tight and looks shiny. after 2 weeks i noticed my skin was getting much clearer. I'm keeping it around for the summer when my face has the potential to break out even more.
For me the key to seeing results is using the sulfur soap 1x daily, "washing" my face with plain water the other time.
using benzoyl peroxide 10% every other night
and using a moisturizer with sunscreen

Hi,

I read this post a while back and was convinced this would help my acne problem. I have had pretty bad acne and after seeing a dermatologist had a couple of years of fairly clear skin. Then my insurance ran out and now my face is just horrid!

I looked everywhere for this Dr. Collado soap and NO one here has it! I even made my own soap by mixing some sulfur I had with my cleanser. My face did NOT like that at all! I just read a post saying that the generic sulfur available online doesn't work as well. There are no listings for this soap on the internet so I was wondering if one of you kind ladies would be willing to pick me up like 10 boxes so I could be stocked up. I would of course pay for your time and the cost of the products plus shipping. Or if there is a link that I can purchase it from that you could post so I could order it myself.

I would really like my skin back because each and every time I get one little pimple, it scars and the prescription that I had would help but only after six months of concentrating on a single spot. This soap sounds like it is what I need, at the very least I would like to try it and if it doesn't work, I'll put it up on the swap board.

Thanks in advance and happy hair growing!

NubianQueen-

You can purchase sulfur soap from these sites:

www.sulphursoap.com (http://www.sulphursoap.com)

http://www.dermstore.com/byprodid_Sulfur+Soap_965.htm

(I've used the brand sold on www.dermstore.com (http://www.dermstore.com) before, it is also good.) By the way, dermstore is a good site and they send out your stuff quick!

http://www.beautytreasures.com/deadseaskincarehtml/sulfursoap.htm

There is another brand of sulfur soap I've used called "Grandpa's Sulfur Soap" or something like that. I think someone else posted about it here.

The Grandpa's one is available at many health food stores.

Hope all this helps! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Blkmane,

Thanks for the links. I finally found three bars (all they had) at a Mexican store. My persistence really paid off because initially the clerk said they didn't have it, but I just knew she didn't understand a word of what I was saying. So, I kept looking, had to move two display cases and there it was!

I have been using it for two days now, have no clue if it is going to work or not. But, if it doesn't, I have the links you provided to try those other brands.

Thanks again!
