never knew this before and i am forever tryna boost my lazy thyroid into action

here is an excerpt from a site i found

This grade of coconut oil can be applied directly to the skin for conditioning. As a cooking oil, its chemical structure is kept in tact and therefore is resistant to mutations of fatty acid chains even when used in higher cooking temperatures, unlike most vegetable oils. For those looking to lose weight naturally, switching to Virgin Coconut Oil can burn off unwanted pounds. Virgin Coconut Oil supports normal digestion, a consideration for those who may have digestive disorders such as Crohn's disease, IBS, and Colits. Thyroid sufferers and healthy people are finding that Virgin Coconut oil boosts the metabolism and raises body temperatures. And there is exciting research showing that the MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) in coconut oil, while great for people, do not support Candida Albicans! These MCTs are also responsible for revving up metabolism and giving energy, which holds promise for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferers through better nutrition, as well as others who need to boost their energy. It is also great as a carrier for massage oils, and is highly valued as an ingredient in natural soaps and skin care products.

Virgin Coconut oil is rich in lauric acid, a nutrient that supports the body's normal functional response to bacteria and viruses. Lauric acid is also found in human mother's milk. Dr. Mary Enig suggests the average adult include about 3.5 tablespoons of coconut oil per day in their diet.

This may be an off base question, But would the palm oil be a good treatment for the skin, like if you used it as a lotion ? What does is smell like?

Well, I have results, ladies! I take 3 Tablespoons of coconut oil in my smoothie 5x a week. Per David Wolfe of Eating for Beauty, that is the therapeutic dose.

In five weeks I lost five lbs. No diet no exercise...

I'm continuing to take my 3 tb/day it is so yummy in shakes that you don't need to add sweetner!

Hey
I dont know if you know about the actual coconut diet recipe book that is available but its been getting rave reviews. I think its based on not changing too much in your day to day life...such as the atkins or south beach...so its a long term alternative as opposed to a short term solution.
