I do it every night and then just rinse my face in the morning! IF I need lightly moisturize w/ my fav moisturizer and all is well.
My skin is oily acne prone and this dissolves clogs and my face doesn't get dried out. Yay me!

I may try this. I have combinationn skin that gets dehydrated sometimes. What ratio of castor oil to olive oil do you use? I was thinking of purchasing a cleansing oil but most of them are a little pricey and have fragrance/additives my skin may not agree with.

Doesn't using these oils make your skin more oily?

Is this method just for dry skin? I have oily skin and would hate to cause more damage.

To answer what ratio of castor to olive I use.. it depends. If my skin is oilier I do a tad more castor, but I typically try to do half of each. You have to use an hot wet washcloth to steam the face a tad and get everything off. I love it! I used to have a bad dehydration problem!
It is good for all types of skin.... This isn't my invention.. there are several threads reccing this on this skin care board....

Hey have you ever considered Dr. Bronners castile soap which has olive oil and castor oil as ingredients?

I know this question wasn't directed at me but I currently have this soap and it is pretty good for the warmer weather. But on certain days, that stuff is too stripping. But I love it when in a blue moon, I get a mild case of body acne (like on the upper arm).

I have Dr. Bronner soap in lavender and I know it is very strong. It would dehydrate my skin. Why should I change if what I am using now is working? :)

I agree with the comments on the Dr. Bronners soap. This soap is good, but it is too harsh to use on the face on a regular basis. I will definitely be trying the olive oil/castor oil mix for cleansing

Thanks for the info!
I've never used it on my face so I was wondering if anyone does to good results! :)

I just tried this tonight and I can't believe how much dirt and grime came off my face. I used a white washcloth and I had to keep wiping to get everything off. Afterwards my skin looked really nice and clean yet moisturized. I'm sold, I'm doing this forever.

Thanks Vev, I am going to try this over the weekend. Since it is summer I do need to keep my skin moisturized, plus I am taking accutane so my skin is alot drier now. This sounds like it will help.
