would retin a work on old blemishes??

although i'm aware that retin a is mainly used for acne i was just wondering if anyone has had success with it working on old scratch marks/blemishes/marks on their face and clearing it up.

I believe that Retin-A should work for older marks. It may take a little longer as far as how long you need to apply, but with time, enough layers will shed for the mark to go away. You MUST also stay out of the sun, Retin-A makes your skin super-sensitive/dry/scaly and that tenderness may expose your skin to new marks if you stay in the sun while using the treatment. Now, if we are talking scars (grooves/indentations/etc), you may want to ask a licensed esthetician since a more aggressive treatment like microdermabrasion may be more effective. Essence magazine has had good spreads on skin care treatment options over the last year or so -- if you can find old issues, do take a look. HTH.

Yes Retin A is a miricle product. It works on old and new blemishes, scars, keloids, even wrinkles, freckles, etc. Evens skin tone, reduces oiliness. I live near the mexican border so I pick it up cheap w/out a Rx. The different strengths 0.01, 0.05. and 0.50 are available. The worst part is if u have sensitive skin- especially on the face, just apply a little it may cause some redness and later some slight burning and peeling. So do not slather it on like night cream! I've been using it for years just about all over; legs arms, buttocks- do not apply to sensitive areas or areas that rub, crease because it may cause chaffing. Good luck.

don't use retin a if you are pregnant!!!!

I used retin A micro and I couldn't get my face to stop peeling. I was raw for so long and I'd be embarrased in public because my skin would start to peel like a lizards skin. I think .01% may have been too much for me.

i ordered some online without a Rx from a Mexican pharmacy. i think it was only 40 or 50 bucks (compared to the 150 plus it goes for here)
