What's the best method for getting your make up done for prom? And where would you recommend? For example, should I buy the make up from, let's say, MAC and then have a local beauty salon apply it? Should I get it done at a counter of some sort? Recommend something!

I think I had the people at the make-up counter apply my make-up for me. All I had to do was purchase 1 thing and they did my whole face. I think that in some big cities the people who work at the counter are actual make-up artists.

I would buy the mac up at make and have them apply it. I know for my prom I had to buy a certain dollar amount and they would do my whole face. So I basically bought the products that they were using on my face. Stuff like the powder to keep from getting oily and my lip stick/gloss whatever your going to use, just to keep my look fresh throughout the night.
For black women, I personally suggest going to make, since it really is like stage make up and youll stay looking good throughout the night.

I would suggest going to a MAC or Bobbi Brown counter to purchase your makeup and for makeup application. You will probably have to make a minimum purchase. I would also suggest calling the counter ahead of to see if you can get an appointment because prom season is usually really busy especially on Saturdays.

Please go before Prom day to see if you like their work. Most make over's that I have received I ended up looking like a clown. I would buy the make up maybe a week or two before the prom and practice.
