I have an NIV Learning Study Bible that I ordered from www.crossings.com (as a part of my membership I get like 5 books free-the only catch is you have to buy 4 books in the next 2 years). It is really good.

I have the King James Version. Love it. My mother is very cool, she does a lot of research into the Bible and teachings on Christianity, and we have a bunch of books that help in understanding the Bible even more, like Strong's Exhaustive Concordance on the Bible, which has well over 1000 pages in it.

I stumbled across two articles that say anything other than the King James is distorted. I'll post them, I want to know what you all think.

I have an NIV Study Bible that I LOVE. It breaks down almost every verse and gives historical context, all the good stuff...LOTS of detail.
Parallel Bible - King James & NIV (side by side on each page) Love it. :)

My pastor has a Parallel Bible that I absolutely love. It has KJV/NIV/NKJV/NLT. I may save up and make it a Christmas present to myself this year, because it's a lil' on the pricey side.

It has something to do with translation. He learned in the seminary that it was poorly translated. His professors recommended the New American Standard version or NIV to the students which are better translations.

NIV. It is easier to understand. When I was younger I was given King James(I think thats the one) version that was hard to understand.:)

Yeah, I think I spent $45 for it about 3 years ago. But it is like buying two Bibles in one. I love mines. I rotate from each version and it really has helped my understand of the word better. :)

I use a NIV and King James Version. My personal bible is really small (small print) so since my dad passed last Oct. I've been using his. It makes me feel closer to his spirit and he has a lot highlighted. :)
