All those on the road to a healthier, SLIMMER body:yay: Once u acheive ur goal will u go around and rub it in others face?

Well let me tell u about a co-worker of mine, she's caucasian and/apparently has a mixture of AA in her genes , short, nice figure, only wide in the hip area and large in the rear. So around Lent she decided to cut back for the season, only grill chicken, grill fish, beef and veggeis. Well she extended this routine beyond Lent(Lentin, not sure if I'm spelling it right) and has continued up unitl now, she eats a jello for dessert and works out twice a day on the treadmill. The sista has lost a noticeable amout of weight and gets compliments daily, I'm was actually surprised and happy for her until today that is:mad: She comes sashaying into our office holding her pants up asking myself and the other workers if we had a string or something to help keep her pants up "I've lost so much weight and everything is falling off of me"

Tell me if I'm wrong but I really got aggravated, I don't feel that was necessary, did she not realized that when she got dressed that morning and even before leaving the house I'm sure she noticed her pants were falling off,and oh I told her exactly that but in a real polite tone, but in my mind I was thinking u ***** how dare u come and rub it in my face:burn:

Ladies let's be humble when we attain our goal especially those on the Kitoy train:yay:

I hear you on that. I don't even want people to come up and congratulate me or tell me how nice I look. Oh but I will be sashaying myself around at this event I have to go to in August. There is a story about that, and yes I'm being a little bit petty.

no, whenever Ive lost weight Ive always been very modest. A few years back when I shed like 65 pounds and was looking really good, I was actually shy about all the attention I got. Even guys at the gym were commenting on it. I never really like being the center of attention. Guess thats the middle child coming out in me since I never was the center of attention it makes me uncomfortable...lol.

Anyway, I never even brought it up but everyone else always did. Dont get me wrong I like to look cute clothes and makeup wise but I dont like ppl carrying on over me ;)

For the most part I dont even think about my body that much when I'm in shape, I'm low key too, but I do not have a problem sashaying around in my cute little outfit on the right occasion.
But I would never rub it in a friends face that I was sucessful with my weightloss and they were not.

im the same way im very lowkey about losing weight....it makes me feel good when i can go in and put those nice outfits on and the single digit jeans on that i never was able to get in and the comments that i receive from men and maybe comments from people that i havent seen in a long time...but that is enough right there...i mean its one thing to be a complete show off but its another to be conceited...i wldnt let it go to my head because i know that my mom has struggled with losing weight since after my sister and i was born...so i cldnt let it... i had one co-worker that had went and did the gastric bypass surgery and thats all you could hear her always talking about is **herself** and how she couldnt wait to wear the short and nice skirts and show off her legs...i was like come on enough already...and she didnt even have that nice of legs...i mean they weren't like amerie or beyonce legs LOL and then i had another co-worker that had lost on slim fast..she even posted her before and after pics on the slim fast website...but she wasnot like that...i think it affects people in different ways..but i just have to take in factor of what size i was at one time...and how i felt being that size..and i dont want to put anyone down or make anyone feel bad...

In general no, but there is this woman who had the nerve to tell me I was getting fat, so with her maybe, she is always telling someone they are fat, their outfit is ugly, etc...... She is all worried about the weight I had gained, all the while her man of 10+ yrs (who will not marry her) is trying to get with any and everything in the streets. I think it is so ignorant to tell someone they gained weight, like I did not know. So yes I may go out of my way to :bdance: in front of her and make sure she sees my engagement ring, kill 2 birds with one stone

Exactly ladies, I know from experience, you can easily end up overweight again. Like my mom always says, "That sista is one popeye's biscuit away from blowing up"(in reference to Beyonce)

:lachen: that's true we are all a couple of bad food choices away from roundness.

I will show off in front of the people that made it a POINT to tell me how big my face has gotten and how I'm too short for my weight. (I'm almost 5'3) But in general, when people make comments about their clothes falling off and how tiny they are, it sounds really conceited and I never want to come off that way.

I'm not a braggart, but I feel you on that one ;)
I am however dressing far more conservatively now and I think that a lot of people are going to be shocked when they see me pulling out my old clothes, high-heels and dressing the way I normally dress.

No, I will not. That's not me.

I had a close girlfriend in college who went on Herbalife - lost a ton of weight - and changed her personality so dramatically, we never talked again. I was always smaller than she was - I was a size 8-10 - and she was like what, as size 18 or 20? But so what, I never paid attention to that and she was prettier than me anyway. She lost weight (like a size 10/12)and turned into an evil beyotch, and got slutty to boot. Stabbed me in the back and talked about how I could stand to lose something, how I thought I was cute..!!!!!!It really broke my heart the way the whole thing went down, but I guess I was seeing how she really was all along. As a mutual friend put it - she lost all that weight and her personality too.
Experiences like that and others have made me not look AT people but IN them. I know I look better w/o the excess weight and its healthier for me, thats about it. Rubbing someones nose in it - nah. I dont have the time.

Besides, survival is its own revenge. The prize is the journey.

No I definetely won't. The people around me (family) are quick to tell me I am gaining weight and are good for sabatoge when I try to lose weight. So know I keep my diets between myself and my support team (Mom and you all).

Blue, your story reminds me of my SIL. She and I get along really well, but when I got married she was over weight, by at least 100 pounds. She and her husband ate Lil Debbies ALL DAY LONG. In the past few years, she has worked really hard to lose weight, only eats organic foods, won't eat trans-fats, yadda...yadda..

Well, she was out this weekend and said, "My Gosh, there must be a FAT CONVENTION at the hotel, because everyone in there is HUGE...blaaahh!"

It pissed me off, because when she was large-marge, she didn't want anyone else to make those comments, yet she forgets how fat her arse was.

It's the same with my family. I didn’t even start losing weight good until I stopped hanging around them so much. They are expert saboteurs! But since they’re all still trying to lose weight, I don’t rub it in & don’t plan on it.

Well I would be excited too... but not to that extent to where I would be pouring it on so thick....asking for a damn rope. She just wanted to call attention the the fact she has lost weight.

Yes, buddy. I'll be measuring and weighing myself the day I go into labor and I will be IN HERE gloating about the inches and pounds that I will have AUTOMATICALLY lost when I drop this load.

Oh, that's not what you were talking about! LOL!!!!! :lachen: :lachen:
