I ran across this book at work called 5 factor fitness. This guy named Harvey Pasternak is a personal trainer to a lot of celebrities with busy schedules and he has a simple routine. Workout 5 days a week, 25 minutes a day (5 minutes of cardio and 3 exercises which take 5 minutes each to do and the a total of 5 minutes rest between sets), and eat 5 meals a day. I love this workout. I was surprised to hear that the rapper Eve was one of his clients. I remember Eve used to have a pudgy tummy. I think it was her scorpion cd cover and I saw her in Amerie's new video "One Thing (Remix)" She got washboard abs! I started doing this today and I like it a lot. I finally found something I can stick to. I don't follow his eating program exactly though. There is another book called "Eating for Life" (second part to Body for life--another workout book) and I follow that because the recipes are healthy AND DELICIOUS! You ladies should check it out. PM me if you want to know more.

oh yea some more of his clients are Halle Berry. He trained her for the movies Catwoman and Gothika. He trains Rick Fox and a few other people that I've never heard of :), but i love his workout though.

I've gotten a few pms about this so I'm going to post a general message for everybody! more info...
he has a website. www.5factorfitness.com there isn't much on the site though. His name is Harvey Pasternak and the book is called 5-factor fitness. The workout is 25 minutes a day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. He has you working a different muscle group each day. You work the different muscles in your stomach everyday. Like the upper abdominus one day, then the lower, then the obliques, etc. It's really simple. I don't like his meal plan though. The recipes he has in the book aren't the least bit apetizing to me so there is this other book called Eating for Life that I make recipes from. They are all healthy and EASY to cook because I suck at cooking. I made Italian chicken for dinner one day. It was GOOD! Then for breakfast I had vanilla cream of wheat with protein powder added.

It's a 5 week long program, but I plan on doing this for life. The first week you do 15 reps of each exercise back to back. Like on Mondays I do 15 of the Dumbbell Chest Fly which works your chest and then immediately start doing 15 of the Dumbbell Tap Squat which works your Quadriceps (the descriptions are in the book). He calls this back to back exercises a superset. Then rest for 90 seconds. Then repeat the superset and rest for 90 seconds. Then work your Upper Rectus Abdominus with the 10 crunches and rest 30 seconds and repeat 2 more times (a total of 3 sets.) That's the Monday routine. Add 5 minutes (YES ONLY 5!!! or more if you want) of Cardio at the beginning of the workout. I stretch my muscles at the end of the workout although he doesn't address that in the book, but I think everyone should alter their workout to make it fit them. On Tuesdays you work your Back, Hamstrings, and Obliques then Thursday work your chest, Quads and Lower Rectus Abdominis, Friday work your shoulders, back and Transverse Abdominis, Saturday work your Biceps, triceps and Upper/Lower Rectus Abdominis. I am so loving this workout.

oh yea... I want my legs to bulk up a big. I want slightly muscular/toned legs. I add calf raises in my routine. Most people don't because they work their calves in the cardio part, but I feel like mine could use a little more work.

I'm too busy to cook everyday so I make a meal on the weekend and portion it throughout the week. Breakfast I have... Vanilla Cream of Wheat (creme of wheat with vanilla protein powder and sugar substitute) because i"m usually rushing out the door to school, but on the weekends I have time to make some eggs (protein) and toast (carbs) or an omelet. For my snack between breakfast and lunch I have a protein shake (or u can have an energy bar or yogurt or a small fruit salad). Lunch I have a tuna wrap (either from Subway or I make my own which is cheaper). For my snack between lunch and dinner I can have another protein shake or bar, but I usually eat some fruit or yogurt. Then for dinner I made Italian chicken (chicken marinated in low fat italian dressing with fettucine pasta and low fat pasta sauce and parmesean cheese. I made a baby spinach salad on the side. These are all recipes out of the Eating-For-Life book. I didn't like the recipes in the 5-factor fitness book. They didn't seem very appetizing.

someone on this board recommended this protein powder called Any Whey. It's supposed be tasteless and you can use it to cook with. I got one tub on sale at GNC and I like it. I can taste it, but I don't think it's nasty. It's pretty easy to cover up.
