I'm looking for a new one. I had a Stone Mountain purse that I got in 1989 and it finally had to be put down last year. :ohwell: It lasted 15 years of me carrying it around every single day. It cost me $90 and people thought I was nuts to pay that much for a handbag, but I got tired of paying $30 or less for one that lasted a few months. The only problem I had with that one was the main zipper broke, but that was after 12 years. I took it to a shoe repair shop and I was good to go. It finally wore too much on the bottom corners and the straps were worn. Everything else was fine.
Since it's been so long, I don't know if the quality is the same...although the prices are still up there. Does anyone know if they (Stone Mountain) still make good quality purses?

My mom just purchased a new one in white recently. I gave her one for Xmas 10 years ago and she is still carrying it. My co-worker swears by Stone Mountain also.

Thank you. Did the newer one seem to be of the same quality? I looked at some in the dept stores and they looked well-made. They didn't have the style I liked, so I may have to order one online.

The new one did appear to be of the same quality. I believe that she ordered hers from QVC. I saw some in Hecht's (May Company) recently.

That's one of the site I was thinking about getting one online. The purse I had was very similar to the one in the grayscale picture in the upper left on the stone mountain section of the site.

Did you get the wallet yet?
