For those of you that are having a hard time getting motivated to work out, the Walk Away the Pounds program is easy and works every part of your body. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I had been going to the gym and was getting frustrated with all of the fancy step moves these ladies were doing http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif and felt that if I didn't start small, I would eventually give up, because I couldn't keep up...repeater, straddle, hop across the bench, etc.

I knew that I hadn't worked out in a LOOOONG time and needed a way to get back in shape that wasn't so hard on my body. I really didn't think this program could work but I'm telling you I was soooo surprised. Not just how easy it was to do but how fast you can walk a mile with this program. Make no mistake about this program because you get a full body work out. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's like an aerobic class but oppose to me being out of oxygen all the time the way I was with my step classes, I stayed in oxygen.

It also makes me want continue doing it because it's not going faster than my body can keep up.

I too have given up on many a exercises because the class was in sync and I was out of sync. I knew I had to find something at a slower pace. I thought about walk away the pounds but chose Yoga and Pilates. Let us know if you lose any weight from Walk Away the Pounds.

YOU Will lose weight. I love these tapes. I have been working out to her new 4mile express tape which I love. I like the tapes because it gives variety (ie 1, 2 and 3 mile tapes) If has done wonders for my legs and in two weeks there was a noticeable difference in my CELLULITE. I will be sticking to this tape! It is easy on your legs, knees and is easy to stick to!

Hi Stacy http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif

It's an in home walking tape. I also wanted to add something important about the tapes. You can walk the miles fast.

1 mile = 15 minutes
2 miles = 30 minutes
3 miles = 45 minutes.

I was so surprised because I just started the program on Friday and I was enjoying the music so much that I did 3 miles this morning. Also unlike some exercise tapes where the instructor just instructs but doesn't do the exercises...Leslie does them on tape with you the WHOLE TIME. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif She is also so bubbly that you enjoy her. http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hey http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/wave.gif Glad I am not the only Leslie lover. I am loving her new 4 mile tape! I try and use that tape 2 times a week and the 3 mile with the weighted balls the rest of the week. Who would have thought walking would be so beneficial and easy? It is the one excercise program I can stick to.

I love Leslie Sasone I really got into her when I was in Weight watchers. I have the one mile walk, the two mile walk, and the four mile walk. At my peak, I would do the two mile walk in the morning and then the four mile walk in the afternoon.

Hi, stacy. This is a vhs tape (in dvd too if you want). You are walking in front of your tv and you dont need that much space. It is just like walking outdoors except you are inside. Leslie Sansone leads the tape and there are other people in the background as well. It is a great investment! The tape lets you know when one mile is done, 2 miles is done etc so yhou can feel free to go at your own pace

That's great Sweetcocoa! I tell you, it's the best tape that I have ever used, not all of that jumping and me being out of breath. I haven't missed a day since I have started and my husband said that my legs and butt are starting to look tight. I can't believe how soon I can see a difference but I believe that it's due to being consistent, something that was hard for me to do with other exercise programs before. Pretty soon I will be adding my Power 90 weight lifting to my plan. You should see my husband, since he has been using it, he is LOOKIN GOOD! http://www.longhaircareforum.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

hey thanks for the info! i'm going to try to get the walk away the pounds tape. i don't have alot of space in my bedroom (where the silly boyfriend moved the vcr and replaced with a dvd player in the living room), so that sounds perfect. that's why i haven't been using my windsor pilates tapes!!!! what a crime!

A co-worker of mine just let me borrow her DVD verstion.
It's Walk Away the Pounds express: Easy walk - 1 mile, Brisk Walk 2 miles. I'm going to start the 1 mile tonight and continue daily through the week and next week try the 2 miles and report back.

I'm getting bored with the cardio machines anyway. That's always me though- I switch up a lot.

I only have the mile tape. It's called 1 mile high calorie burn or something like that. It's pretty easy now, the first few times I tried it, I would stop the tape. (Out of shape here). I have been doing it for months and should've been switched to 2 mile or above. On the tape I have she has you walking in place, doing forward kicks, side-step and knee lifts. And a little upper body movement with punching your arms forward and above your head while you are walking in place.

I've rented the dvd from Netflix a couple of months ago. I couldn't continue with the workout. I get aches from the hips just starting out (buildup of lactic acid in the muscles). But it is an excellent workout for those who can't walk outside due to the heat, or getting attacked at night. I'm going to buy it at Target or Wal-Mart when I get the chance.

I love Walk Away the Pounds. I have the 1-Mile, 2-Mile, and 3-Mile videos. The videos also came with 2lb. weighted balls. I use 5 lb. weights though. I either do the 2 mile (30 minutes)or 3 mile (47 minutes), depending on my schedule.

I have the series as well. Other than Leslie Sansone's horribly annoying laugh, I think the Walking Away the Pounds series is the bomb. Whenever I just don't feel like going to the gym, I just pop in the 3-mile walk and get a really good workout. When I was doing the South Beach Diet, I found this exercise series to be just enough to get a good workout without over-exerting myself.

I put in my order for Leslie's videos on Amazon.com. The workout is excellent for a lot of us who have limitations and can't go out due to the changes in the weather. I had a membership through Netflix and requested the video. I'll try the videos again 'cause I have a lot of weight to lose, and I love going out on my walks every other day.

Toinette,

I've wondered the same thing. Maybe that's just her body type. But I think the workout is effective because, event hough it's low impact, you FEEL your muscles working. I was reading an article in Woman's Day about the right diet for oyur shape (circle, squre, triangle, etc.) Anyway, this guy who has defined the body shapes is the one who does the training for the Extreme Makeovers show. He said walking and low impact exercise is most effective for weight loss because you're burning fat and not sugar (if this is inaccurate, someone help me). So anyway, his point was that low impact is really good. I have the 2 mile walk, but I will try the walk/jog. Although I must admit that I do get a little bored witht these walk workouts, I don't have to sweat out my hair:lol:!!!

ooh i hope that walking thing is true cuz i'm trying to log in 45 min sessions at least 8 times a week. i just really hate working out. i'm hoping that the walking combined with my diet will help me lose these first 30 lbs. and then when i feel comfortable and strong enough, i hope to start with the elliptical and weight training.
