Since I am on a budget and was too cheap to buy proactiv, I went out and brought AcneFree at Rite Aid for 19.99. Now I am doing a search on line and another product popped up: Klear Acne. Now both of these has on the package "Compare to Proactiv". Have anyone use these products and have used proactiv also and if so was there a difference?

I'm using the Klear Action Acne Treatment, and it's exactly like ProActiv. All the ingredients are the same. The great thing about the Klear Action is that the toner comes in a larger size, which is great for me because I was adding witch hazel to the ProActiv toner to get more out of it. So far, so good. I'm lovin' it.

I've never used ProActiv but I do use AcneFree. It works great in clearing up my face but I have to use it sparingly or else the skin around my nose will start peeling.

Does the cheaper items work in clearing up dark spots left from acne...i saw some before and after pics of some people using proactiv and it seems like it cleared up even the dark spots would the AcneFree or Klear Acne Treatment do the same?? anyone have any idea??im trying to make the deicsion on rather i should try proactiv but if i could one of these two kits for cheaper and it would do the same as proactiv that would be great...

hi i just wanted to give some of u an update on acnefree i purchased it last week and have been using it for about 3 to 4 days two times a day(once in the morning and once at night) with my retin-a(so it may just be these two products not going well with each other) my skin is usually combination...but it is kind of drying to my skin and now has a burning sensation maybe because the amount of the benzoyl peroxide in it and the retina that im using...otherwise the acne free has cleared my face...but i think im either not going to use the retina or cut down to using it to wash my face at night and then using something with more moisturizer in it during the morning....

I give Klear Action 5 stars {or two thumbs up}...that stuff is great for my skin. If I run out and don't use it for a day or two before getting more my skin knows it {starts breaking out again}. I've never tried Pro-Active but decided to use this after all the great reviews from drugstore.com. This stuff works and its the highest priced acne product I've used {I used phisoderm for years but it stopped working}. I know Pro-active costs more but I like this better...

My Review on AcneFree:
I would give this a five star. I have been using this product since March 14, 2005. I also use Neutrogena on-the-spot treatment (at night). Within the first three days I notice a change in my skin. My pimples were gone by March 25. It cleared the light blemishes on my face (have to use a fading cream on the darker ones).

I have used AcneFree and consider it to be very inferior to ProActiv, which has worked well for me. The AcneFree did nothing for my skin; the cleanser worked okay, but the toner and acne lotion may as well have been water. I haven't tried Klear Action, but I have plans to now, especially since the price is so much better than ProActiv.

Klear Acne has the same ingredients as Pro Active at 1/2 the price. I just ordered it today! I will take before and after pics and keep you posted.
