Dark area around moustache..

Hi guys,
I have always had this. It's basically a dark area under my nouse between my lips .ie if i was a man where my moustache would be. I thought it was hair but its not as i have waxed there and it has made no difference. Does anyone else have this or had any sucess lightening it?

I would invest in something that would even out that area like a cleanser or exfoliator containing glycolic acid and sunscreen of at least SPF 15. Mine used to be really noticeable until I started exfoliating more often and wearing sunscreen. Mine was due to acne and hyperpigmentation.
