Hi Everyone,

I want to try a microdermabrasion kit to use at home but I'm not sure which one is best. I know Neutragena, Loreal, Avon and some other companies have them. Can someone suggest which one is best and why? Or if you bought one, why did you choose the one you did. I have normal skin. Thanks!

I have the Loreal kit. No special reason just didn't know other companies offered home kits. I use it about 2 times a week and I love it. It leaves my skin extremly soft and gives my skin a glow. I need to be more consistant with it though but im very happy with my results.

I was wondering about the L'oreal kit. How much is it? I haven't seen it in stores, just magazines.

I think about 20 - 28 dollars. It depends where you purchase it from also.

I got my kit for about 24 dollars at Kmart. If you have a walmart near you can try there as well it might be cheaper.

I have it (Neutrogena Advanced Solutions). I'm about to start my second week today of use today. I use it at night. The instructions say to use it for 5 days in a row for my skin type, then give your skin a break for a week, then use it 1-3 times per week. I have normal-oily skin. I have the T-zone oil. I tend to get a ruddy patch and large pores in the area of my cheeks parallel to the bridge of my nose and under my eyes. If I get a pimple, I scar and I've noticed some of the dark spots flaking off, revealing newer unmarked skin underneath. My skin is softer, smoother and seems to moisturize better. My pore size has decreased and some of the ruddiness has decreased. I have always used a moisturizer, but I am using it a little more heavily now, but I am using spf 15 instead of the 30 they recommend because that's what I have on hand. I will use 30 soon though.

I also purchased the Pore Refining Cleanser. I'd purchased another midrodermabrasion product in January that did not have the gadget and I think the gadget makes a big difference in the results I've seen with my skin. It also makes my skin tingle and I'd think that would be good for the circulation and will help improve my skin as well. It has two speeds and vibrates, rather than rotates. There was a $5 off coupon in the walgreen coupon book for February. I also believe it was advertised somewhere else for $5 off too..

I went to CVS to get one of these I was going to get the Neutrogena or Loreal microdermaabrasion kit. How about they had the refill cream, and the scrubbers to teh Neutrogena kit; but they didnt have the whole kit itself. One of the employees was trying to help me find it but no such luck. She was like " I just saw it", But I didnt see the Vita-K Solution Kit. I read the ingredients and they seem good. Stuff like aloe, vitamin-k, vitamin-c, cucumber, dead sea salts, etc. I will try to take some before and after pics.

Neutrogena has a $5 mail in rebate for the Advanced Solutions system microdermabrasion kit. http://www.neutrogena.com/drtv/rebate.asp

I got $5 off instantly by using the walgreen's coupon, but plan to get $5 more with this rebate I saw on the neutrogena website.

I use the kit by Philosphy. It's a 2 step like the L'Oreal and it's great. It gives the smoothness and the glow that everyone's talking about. I use it twice a week. The only drawback I'd say is the price. It's $75, but lasts a long time. I'm finishing up one now that I started on back in December and have the new one waiting to go! But I may try the L'Oreal if it's as good as everyone is saying it is. :)

I used it yesterday I think. (FYI: I used the Vita-K Solution microdermabrasion kit) It made my skin smoother, and thats it I was expecting it to even out my skin tone a little, shrink my pores but it didnt. I am not pleased. I have been thinking about using it again to see if does anything this time. Or just returing it to get my money back. It has a money back guarantee, written on the box. It says to mail the orginial recicept and the UPC code or something, and I willl get a refund. But I am skeptical, because the might keep the receipt and never give my money back. So I am thinking of buying either the neutrogena or the loreal microdermabrasion kit. Which ever one I find first. I was thinking about maybe buting the loreal kit , and then just using the scrubber from the Vita-K kit to put it on. FYI: I have been to 3 different stores looking for the neutrogena one and they have all been sold out!

fuzzyhead, you most likely won't see overly dramatic results after one use with any over the counter product you purchase. It will happen over time. I am using the neutrogena advanced solutions and have noticed my skin getting smoother and the pores shrinking over time. Yes, I noticed some improvement right away, but it was not dramatic. When I look very closely in the mirror, I can visibily see the dead skin trying to peel off. The underneath skin is brighter and less dull. If I run a nail over my facial skin, it will come off faster, but I don't want to do any damage/scaring, so I let it happen on its own.

This kit and product is a keeper for me. I followed the instructions and used it for 5 days, then took a week off. I am now going to use it 3 times per week and follow up with a good moisturizer.
