Phentermine that is?

I just got a bottle last week and take 15 mg MWF only. I have not been able to get on the scale (I don't own one) but I have noticed a big difference in my new jeans :ohwell: . I have been journaling my food at www.fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com) and I can see a big difference. I have been counting calories, but will trade that off for WW points because they are easy to keep up with. I also drank 2.5-3 liters of water each day.

Monday 02/14/05 I was real thirsty, slightly jittery, and I got a mild migraine later on that day. I had no problem sleeping, no hunger (of course), and extra energy.

W 02/16/05 Thirsty still, not so jittery, no headaches. I forgot to eat lunch and my blood sugar dropped making me feel like garbage. I made up for it at dinner.

Friday 02/18/05 Thirst has gone away but I still drink plenty of water and I am only jittery right after I take the pill. Still no hunger.

I have realized that I have mental hunger. I am not physically hungry but when I look at the clock and realize the time, I automatically become hungry.

So far, so good.

I will update next Saturday.

I stopped because I did not think it was a big contributer to my weight loss and I did not like my heart racing at night. I also realized that my eating was not always physical, but mental/emotional; therefore, the phentermine worked well when I did not have mental/emotional triggers. I could go the whole day w/o eating. However, when I was triggered, I could still overeat/binge. Some days, I was really thirsty, others not. I often stayed up to 3 in the morning because I could not sleep even though I wanted to sleep. In the end, I decided that it was not worth paying the clinic $35 and paying the pharmacy another $35-40 each month when I did just as well eating when I wanted, as much as I wanted (of course, not overeating), and exercising 6 days a week. Now, for those folks who eat 5000 calories a day because their bodies physically crave that many calories, phentermine might be the answer to get a grip; otherwise, skip it. IMHO.

What did you do to conquer your emotional/mental eating? I have been telling myself that it is impossible for me to be hungry because of the meds and that it is all in my head and then don't eat.

How much were you taking? I have never had my heart to race that must have been really scary:eek: , and I have been sleeing like a log ( I missed my bus this morning) :ohwell:

I was on 37.5 mg of generic Adipose (sp?) 1x a day. I have not conquered my emotional/mental eating binges. I identify them, identify why I want something to eat (boredom, depression, etc.), and I decide to either distract myself or give in to it a little or a lot. If you take the time to think it through, you might talk yourself out of it. Keep some good treats on hand (fruit, low-calorie, fat free snacks, etc.). Don't even have the heavy offenders in your house, so you do not have to fight a big battle when your binges come. After a while, you will crave the healthier snacks.

I am taking 1/2 of what you were on. Apdipex 37.5 is actually just 30 mg of Phentermine. But still that is a lot.

I added some sugar free jello and applesauce to my snack food stash but I am gradually eating up what I have so that I won't have a lot to take home for Spring Break.
