First, I need a weight loss buddy. I am 160 lbs. (hide it fairly well, but am still a thick sista). I am only 5' 3.5". I had 3 kids, and after they left my tummy, the fat remained.
I will be 27 next month, and I want to be healthy by the time that I'm 30. I'm trying to incorporate small healthy changes in my cooking for my family. (using olive oil, baking instead of frying...etc.)
I really want to cut the flour and sugar out of our diet, but I run out of ideas for things to cook that don't consist of steamed veggies and salad every night. (family is not having that and may evict me...lol).
Does anyone know of any good tasting recipes that fit the bill?
Is anyone willing to help me with my weight loss/healthy living efforts?
Much love and many blessings!

Hi there, my friend
I will have to dig up some recipes, but you are more than welcome to join my buddy group, or any other that you think might be more up your alley.
We are all in here trying to live better, not just diet, ya know.

DF,
I'm trying to lose it too! What I recent;y discovered is the crock pot. As far as making healthy, delicious, easy food, I love my crockpot. I usually make chicken breasts in it with any kind of seasoning: jerk, curry, asian spices, buffalo, etc. The crock pot does all the work.
HTH!

My family did the same thing. It was like "why do we have to suffer because you want to lose weight"? So, what I did was make-over their favorite recipes. With chili and sphaghetti I use ground turkey and I always add a can of beef broth to give it extra flavor. I also use whole wheat noodles instead of the flour ones. With my chili, I add extra kidney beans and black beans. Try adding more spices and flavors when you cook. Also, get the Cooking light magazine. They have great recipes. If you don't want to subscribe, they always have an annual cookbook with all their recipes for the entire year.

Excellent! Well, just hop on over to our buddy thread and let's get crackin'.
In case you are not aware, my baby is sick, which has caused me to stress. So, I may not be back in "form" until Monday, but I'll be posting as much as I can. Also, I'll look for some of my recipes. I usually go to allrecipes.com and do a search for whatever I'm interested in.
