Hey ladies! It's the end of Week 6 of the New Skin Challenge. How are you doing? Post your results and let us know!

Well, 6 weeks into it, and I have to say that I have seen ups and downs. At this point, I'm very much on the down end of things :( . I sat and thought today what I could be doing differently so I can see consistent results from my efforts. I realized that while I was addressing the breakouts I already have, I wasn't really doing anything to try and prevent my acne from forming. So, once again, I have revamped my regimen. I think this is something I can live with now. I put the my new full regimen in my Fotki Skin Care Journal (it's a little long and detailed). I'll give this a try for 6 weeks and see what I come up with. Hope you ladies are doing better than I!

Hugs,
Crys

This week has been a pretty good one for me. There were a couple of days this week when I didn't have one pimple!! I have started using baking soda along with my cleaner and I really like it, it makes my face much smoother. I also ordered a sample of Creme De La Mer this weekend to see if that can help with some of the dark spots. I think I'm starting to get a few new pimples this week but hopefully they won't last long. Hope everyone else is doing good.

@Mocha I hope your new regimine works well for you.

I am doing okay. I am still being consistent with the night time routine. I requested some samples of LM moisturizer for the warm weather months.

Hey Crys, I hope your revamped regimen works for you. It took me a while before I finally settled on once regimen that I am now doing consistently.

I have a breakout last week, but I haven't had much since then although I have a bump under the skin on my nose that is just chilling. It's not noticeable, not showing, and not going anywhere for some odd reason.

I realized yesterday that I need to add some type of mild facial scrub, but I haven't figured out what I want to do yet. I may just add some sea salt in my hand and mix it with my face wash since I have a large bag of sea salt.

I did the neutrogena peel thing this morning and my face appeared brighter after using that. My main problem area is my cheeks, so once I can control these areas I will be all good.

I'm doing pretty well. I don't have problems with acne anymore, but I have these little bumps that pose as acne. I just found out that it''s called Milia, some people refer to as "baby acne." It's not acne, but the it's the skin response to clogged pores or something. Basically I need to exfoliate, what a good exfoliator that's not too harsh?

Good so far for me minus one problem..

I'm going to get a chemical peel for my b-day, but need to find a good spot

Hey ladies!!

I haven't updated in a while but I think I am finally back to where I was before that horrible breakout a couple weeks ago. My skin is looking a lot better and I have really been pushing myself to be consistant as well. I also started using proactiv solution skin lightening lotion about 3 weeks ago and I love it. I know it's only been a short period of time I really but I can tell a difference in my skin. I think in a couple more weeks it'll be better so I just have to be patient.

My skin is doing wonderfully, now. I made it past that "TOTM" breakout...:yay:, and I've also changed my regimen a lil' bit. I'm now using Boscia Oil-Free Hydration SPF 15 as my morning moisturizer and Dove Essentials Sensitive Night Cream for my evening moisturizer. I wasn't too thrilled about giving up my Burt's Bees Moisturizer because I loved the all natural ingredients, but it was causing my skin to become very oily. :( Hopefully, the Boscia and Dove will give my skin the moisture boost that it needs without causing any oil slicks.

ummmm, yeah, how about i just give up. i swear, wtf is wrong with my skin :angry2:

well i ordered black and white bleaching cram with hydroquinone, and my dark spots are starting to fade. so ive been psyched. only to reeeeeeeeeewind, because my neck and arms have been diagnosed with eczema (basically dry skin). :angry2: not only that, but this has been going on for few months, but i just thought i had a rash and so i was putting hydrocortisone on it and its been going away. but as of late its just dried up and come back. well when it dried up, it left dark spots on body. so now i have dark spots (hyperpigmentation) everywhere!!!!!!! :angry2: so now i have to go to the derm for my face and my body. *sigh* HOW IN THE HIZZELL DID I GET AN OILY FACE AND DRY BODY. WTF?

blast skin! facial skin, neck skin, leg skin...blast all skin! ive been cursed with the bad skin genes

woe is me

Hey mocha, i hope your new regimen works out for you!
To adress your skin issues, do you also pay attention to what you eat ? I know it made a HUGE difference for me ! no red meat, no greasy food, ect. Anytime I fall back and eat too much chocolate for instance, BAM ! my skin will react ! My sister also pointed out that how you feel about yourself can have an impact on your skin. In my case, I believe it's true. When my self esteem was low, my skin was in its worst state ! It was a vicious circle, because the pimples made me feel even worse about myself !
Now that I feel better, I'm still amazed of how my skin has turned out to be. I don't know if it's the only reason, but I feel it plays a role.
When I tell ppl I hade alot of acne, they don't believe me.
Also (but that's just my opinion), using less harsh stuff on my skin is better. Natural products work better for me. I've tried so many brands, and they seem to work only for a short amount of time. I'd rather use black soap than a drugstore facial wash. I'd rather use Evoo to moisturize my face than anything else. I'd rather use rhassoul as a face mask (it costs 1.50 euros !)than an expensive mask. I'd rather use baking soda as a face scrub !
This are just examples, but these products have SAVED my skin !
Every case is different, but I'm sure you will find what really suits your skin ! Good luck !

I got the same issues, you'll find something that works...it's a matter of trial and error. :ohwell:
