Thanks so much for starting this thread.

I'm definitely in. While cleaning up for the holidays, I found a stack of pictures that were taken a few years ago, and even though I knew I gained weight, the pictures forced me to truly acknowledge how much weight I've gained.

This morning, I wrote down a list of rewards for each milestone reached (5 lbs loss, 10 lbs loss,...goal), and made "workout appointments" with myself (following BFL). Next, is planning the menu.

My "official" plan start day is Thursday (Weight Watchers weigh in day), and this week is being used to rid the kitchen of sodas, chips, etc., and to begin working out (early morning).
Here's to the New Year and a new us!

That is amazing because the same thing just happened to me. I found some old pictures and my daughters were like who's that. I was like me and they were like darn mom you were skinny. I put one of them in my fitness journal and that is my inspiration. I am really serious this time around. I have put off losing the weight for too long and I can't wait to look in the mirror and recognize the person staring back at me. Because right now, she is a stranger. I too am getting rid of the junk in my home, I realize that the temptation is too strong. Hopefully I can plan my meals this evening and start tomorrow but no later than Thursday so we are right on track.

I went to Walmart and got a digital scale and I hope to get to GNC to get one of those body fat caliphers or I will just use the tape to measure. I just got some more film for my camera and I am ready to go.

Thank you so much for joining me on this journey. I know it won't be easy but if we encourage each other I think we will accomplish our goals. Just think, we will be fit in trim just in time for spring!!! Take care Q

Im in..I will start checkin in next week. I still have the left over desserts in my house :)

I have a before picture that I took to get me motivated. I've atleast started back to drinking my water. Today at work I drank 32 ounces. I don't want to keep doing what i've been doing which is wish I would have started before and kept it up.

I want to be fit and trim for the spring and summer :)
First step is buying food and cooking and not going to chick fil a or wendy's for the quick bite to it. I am soo guilty of that or atleast getting the healthiest thing on the menu.

I'm in ya'll! I'll be following BFL pretty close, except I decided to add weights a little later due to the fact that I have alot of muscle, under my fat, and the last time I did bfl I bulked up instead of slimming down. I do cardio twice a day for 5 days and aerobics at church on saturday. Good luck everyone and happy new year!!!

Hey I am here, hoping to load my pictures soon. Thanks for joining us choqlat!!! I finally got rid of all of the excess junk and I am ready to get started. I went to Sam's and got the BFL drinks also for those times I am out and about and may miss my meal. I will take my official weight on measurements first thing in the morning. I know they will be scary but it's okay because in about 4 weeks from now they will be a lot lower, I am claiming it. Take care Q

I'm still here, but to be honest with you, this weekend was a bit of a setback for me. Very little water, "In N Out" (twice) and no exercise! It's so frustrating! I do so well during the week and then fall completely off the wagon on the weekends! Does this happen to anyone else? What do you do to keep yourself on program?

Well, tonight is menu and exercise planning for the week (and weekend), and it seems like chicken is on deck for lunch or dinner everyday this week. Hmmm...that'll have to change.

Have a great week!

I was contemplating blowing up a couple of the pictures I found to place them in strategic locations around the house (refrigerator, closet, etc.) as reminders, but thought it might get a little depressing :ohwell: (and I am an emotional eater - happy, sad, depressed, you name the emotion, I'll find a food item to compliment it).

On second thought, maybe it would be a good thing. The pictures remind me of a time in my life when I really enjoyed myself, and wasn't hiding out because of my weight (I've missed so much). Where did I put that package.....???

The clock is set for 5 am, and the first workout is upper body (I downloaded the spreadsheets from http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/journals.asp). (http://www.bodyforlife.com/exercise/journals.asp)

Sending good thoughts your way...

Well, glad ya'll are still here. Let's not fall by the wayside. My greatest challenge will be getting up and going to the gym at 5 am during this Minnesota winter....... I am working out, but I really feel so much better going in the early am.

Well day one is done ladies. Thankfully I have a workout room in my house that has a treadmill, bike, gazelle, crossbow, free weights and rack, stability ball mats and resistance bands. It was still hard but I did it. I can't wait until these pounds just fall off. Take care Q

Evening everyone! I had a pretty good day. I got up a 530 and worked out, I felt like I was dying, but it felt good. Stayed away from sugary snacks and ate pretty well, it felt good to stick to my notes. I'm about to get on the treadmill. Hope everyone else did well. Queeny, I'm impressed!! I need to get where you are... I have a treadmill already, but I am seriously thinking about getting a pilates machine to tone. On tv, its only like 150.00. Having a way to work out in my home makes a big difference in the weight I WILL lose. The best part is the ability to slide in the bed after a great workout and shower...

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!

I was doing good yesterday...woke up at 5:30 and worked out. However today I plan to do weights but I plan to do them this afternoon after work. I watched the Sugar Bowl with since my alma mater (V Tech) was playing and we had lots of people over and didn't go to bed till 12:30am. I needed some sleep this morning.. But i'm still going for the gold..Working out tonight most definetly.

Hey Ladies!
I had a great day today. Ate oatmeal for breakfast, my granola mix for snack (although I ate it a little late, since I was in orientation this morn), chicken, collards and blackeye peas for lunch, tangerine and wheat thins for afternoon snack, and tilapia, broccoli and grapefruit for din. I worked out this morn for 30 min and ran this evening for 30 and I feel great! Just need to stay focused and I will be alright!

Good afternoon! Well, I'm keeping with my workouts. I have been getting back up to speed with my cardio this week. Next week I will be adding back my weights. I'm still working out the details of my weight training program, since that's not completely together yet, I might as well wait and start off doing things the right way. My eating is good, though I'm getting only 5 meals instead of 6 in. I've increased my good fats by eating more avecado and almonds, but not too much. I'm getting most of my water in. It's harder for me to drink a whole gallon in the winter, but I do get very close. So hang in there ladies!

Hi ladies how are you doing? My doctor banned me from working out the rest of this week. I was overdoing things in my life and got stressed and under the weather. I wasn't sleeping properly and my body shut down on me today. As you can see I am up late and posting!!! I do plan on continuing to eat properly and drink water. I will be going to the meeting in Houston this weekend and I think the break will do me good and I will be back to working out come Monday. I still have yet to post my pics, I gotta go pick them up. The last time I weighed, I did lose 2.5 pounds so I am doing good. How is everyone else doing? Take care Q
