I'm almost in a loose loose situation. The lunch at my school is horrible (it's unhealthy AND taste nasty) and we're not allowed to bring food in the prison..I mean school. I was trying to bag up some small snacks I could stick in my pockets to munch on til I got home. Chips, cookies, pops, etc are really covenient, so I'm trying to make healthier choices just as covenient. Any ideas or recipes?

To what FlowerGirl said, I would add seeds like sunflower and pumpkin seeds. You might try one of many 'trailmix' type offerings available. That should keep your energy level high throughout the day.
Also, do a cereal mix like Cheerios and maybe one of the lower-fat type granola ones.
That utterly sucks that you cannot bring your own food to school!

Raw sunflower seeds, peanuts and almonds.

what snacks do you recommend for someone who has a SERIOUS sweet tooth? I mean to the point where sweets is its own separate food group /forums/images/graemlins/wasntme.gif

Evil Nabisco makes these "100 calorie packs" of mini chips ahoy cookies, "flat" oreos (no filling lol), and these fruit snacks. They're really good. They come in packs of 6 or so and they're often on sale in various grocery stores. You could also by reduced fat oreos or chips ahoy and bring them in a zip lock bag. There's also york peppermint patties and junior mints for low fat sweet stuff!

Yeah, I've seen and had those Chips Ahoy and Oreo slivers. In no way can they be called cookies. LOL!!! I was thinking about just eating a lot of fresh and canned fruit along with some sugar-free cookies.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I picked up some Kelloggs Granola Bars. They're a healthier alternative to chips and cookies and they taste pretty good. I just slip one in my pocket.

How about those Quaker rice mini-cakes? They come in chocolate, nacho cheese, white cheddar cheese, caramel, and peanut butter (I think). They're lowfat and low calorie.
