Dermatologist in NY ?

Has anyone been to a dermatologist that they could refer me too...acne, hyperpigmentation and now a huge skin tag so Im veryy desperate to see one. I made an appointment to see one that I saw in the papers but its all the way in December..

Susan Taylor is extremely reputable- she's written books and is always in Essence. She also comes on the Today Show to give advice a few times a year. Not sure how her fees work, but I've heard she's awesome!

Oh yeah, Susan Taylor...I would love to be able to see her...she runs the Skin Center of Color at St. Luke's Hospital...I also think there's another location as well.

Thanks for all the recs. Unfortunately, Dr Taylor doesnt accept my insurance and given her popularity Im sure I cannot afford her without that. I have an appt with Dr Sumayah Jamal and Dr Hatcher--Im going to try again and see which of them works well with me.

Thanks anyways southerngirl...MonaLisa thanks again for the referral; he seemed very attentive even though I was in a hurry. I'll report with results after my first month.

Very good! Dr. Hatcher loves when I come in cause I'll call him out on stuff...like taking all my money and going on vacation with it.

He is very attentive and remembers all of my personal biz (which is irritating sometimes, when I wish he would forget...lol)

Hope everything turns out well, I need to pay him a visit in the next month or so myself.

Lol. He called me out for picking a pimple /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif while I was there...and yeah I had my 20 buck copay in my hand when I gto there but you know I spent about 4 times that in his office and then another grip on the prescription, and since my cc ppl know Im a broke *** they called me to make sure it was a valid charge.

LOL...girl, I always come clean with him if I know I've done something...he sees everything..and then I tell him to let's get on with it and start healing me. lol.

You know..I thought he was expensive...but I called around to other places and they were actually more...and I realized that he has not raised his office visit charges for at least 6 years..and he's moved to a nicer office in Chelsea. It hurts to pay sometimes, but he's worth it in his care of me.
