Is it ok to layer products? If so which ones? I have a fade gel with hydroquinone and a lotion (not moisturizing) with glycolic acid. Both products say to use them it night. Would you use them together? If so, in what order? If not, do you think alternating nights would be effective?

i think you should apply the lotion first (let it dry) and then put the gel on. if you do it vice-versa then the gel will roll up...make sense?
or
wear the gel during the day and the lotion at night.

Do you think one product interferes with the other? That's what I'm really woried about. If I wear the gel during the day I will be putting my moisturizer (with SPF 15) on top of that so either way I'll be layering the products. Maybe I'll try both at night, using the gel on top of the lotion.
The products in question are:

Anti-irritant ingredients keep skin calm and soothed.

and
Black Opal Essential Fade Complex (http://www.blackopalbeauty.com/site/skin_fade_essential.html)
<ul type="square"> Efficacious skin brightening system consisting of Hydroquinone and a unique Citrus Lightening Complex.

Guess what I see from looking at the website? It says that the Retexturizing complex can be followed with a misturizer and the fade complex (which they describe as a serum instead of a gel) can be used after moisturizing. I guess that means layering is ok but still what order? After reading the instruction do you think the lotion and then the gel is good?

honestly,
you don't really need both b/c a good fade cream/gel/serum (especially) will do everything that the lotion will do on it own. the fade cream will even, clarify, shrink pores thus making your complexion smoother, and lighten.

okay, so it's a serum. in that case, sense mose serums have a lotion-like consistency, i would apply a thin layer of serum, then the lotion, then the sun-block (when wearing during the day)

Well I want to use both because I want the combination of hydroquinone and glycolic acid. I no longer have the box to the fade complex but I don't think it contains glycolic acid. But based on what you said maybe I'll use the fade complex for six weeks (which is recommended and then continue with the other product. Thanks for your patience.

i understand what your saying but i have good news! most serums have aha's in them.
check out this blurb:A highly effective formula with all natural Alpha Hydroxy Fruit Acids and Vitamin E. This non greasy serum, with dropper dispenser, provides direct application with no mess and no waste.
this is from palmer's skin success advanced fade serum. so, caress, you can still get the combo that you want.
