I'm using Lustra-AF Cream (http://www.lustra.com/lustra.html). It is available by prescription or you can get it off a Canadian pharmacy website. It's 4% hydroquinone (the ones over the counter are 2%) & I am noticing some results.

Also, I have stopped shaving under my arms. Shaving seems to make them darker. I use Surgi-Cream Hair Remover For Underarms instead.

I've heard about using lemon juice to lighten underarms but I haven't tried that yet.

You can do it the old fashion way: Take a lemon and slice it in half and rub the lemon under your armpits. Leave it on for a few minutes then rinse. To Mikki: It sounds like you are allergic to your deodorant. You can switch to an aluminium free deodorant but that's your decision. I hope this helps.

You can also try a bleaching soap that has 2% hydroquinone (sp?) that should help with the discoloration,I agree with the poster that said you might be allergic to an ingredient in your regualr deordant. I used a deodorant from Avon, that broke me out really bad, to the point that it was itching badly, and I scratched all day long. My mother insisted that I use medicated powder, which had menthol, and some other soothing ingredients. That helped to "heal" my broken skin.My skin was badly discolored, so I used Black soap and a soap with 2% hydroquinone twice a day and I was fine after one week.
