Does blush maximize cheeks? Does it minimize cheeks? Does it add another dimension to the face?
I haven't been wearing blush but I'm considering it. Please provide a sister with some feedback! blush -->:o

BTW SweetNic, I'll be visiting CT next weekend. How do you like it there?
I think it depends on the color of your blush and your complexion. It's supposed to make you look naturally flushed and glowing.
I'm very picky about blush. At the MAC counters, most if not all the blushes turned red on me. Nars-orgasm and Sin turned red on me and I don't care too much for the clown look. Although I'm yet to try Nars-Gina which is supposed to be a peachy pink.
I wear Nuetrogena's Soft suede, Rimmel-Tawny, and some Milani stuff. I got all these reviewed from makeupalley and they were right on point.

I'll stop by MakeupAlley and see if they can recommend a shade for my skin tone. I wear NW45.
CT is ok if you only like to go to dinner and movies. I usually go to NYC when I'm in party mode (which has been everyweekend recently). Where in CT will you be?

Good luck stopping by MUA (said sarcastically). Since there is a chance that the only people who will answer a question from a NW45 is Felicia and myself.
You can use blush for a few different reasons. The main reason is just to add color but you can use it to contour (either maximizing or minimizing your cheeks). Most lines have colors that should work for you but you kinda gotta know what to look for.
Blunt is a MAC blush that is a nice warm brown. There are some nice peaches and plums that might work for you. Another issue is please use with a light hand - as long as you do that you shouldn't ever look like Raggedy Ann (I've had it happen at a counter once)

lol...thanx Calbear. I'll ask my makeupartist (MUA) friend to recommend a good shade. I looked on like at MAC's raisin blush and it doesn't look half bad. Of course I'd have to try it on my skin.

OHHHH Raisin is recommended quite a bit (of course from the DDD's who actually answer on MUA and catching more than one of us on the board at any time is a miracle).

I went on the message board and the format seems very busy (almost confusing). I'll go through it again tonight.

It is sooo hit or miss sometimes. Sometimes a question will sit there and no one will answer while posts about stupid stuff will get a million hits. Other times the board is flying and you catch a few really great chicks on the board who will help ya. Good luck.

Depends on how you use it but mostly it contours and brings definition to that area. I learned a trick in the biz on how to make my cheekbones look higher. If you place a dark blush inside the hollows of your cheeks and then place a highlighter on the apples your cheeks, they will look more chiseled.

This one is my favorite. Good choice. I like Trish Mcevoy easy going also.

sunkissd, how contrasty should the two shades be, relative to the other? I hope I asked that right... Can the lighter shade be much lighter or much different in color from the darker shade? Is there a general rule of thumb on the relationship these colors have with one another?

This is the highlighter that I use:

You can use it alone or with a darker blush color. The lighter color has a little shimmer and it's sheer and I put it on my cheekbone, that gold color on the other side kind of acts like a blender between the blush and the highlighter. I place the blush in the hollow of my cheeks closer to my hairline.
My highlighters have a strong contrast with the blush that I use but I blend them in so that the difference is subtle. The lighter the highlighter the more prominent your cheekbones will be but you want to use a color that also compliments your skin tone.
