My makeup is washed out by day's end

What's some tips on keeping your makeup fresh all day? By the time I get home, I literally looked washed out. My waterline eyeliner is completely gone, my foundation is blotchy, ...I look like someone poured a bucket of water over my head and I just sat and let everything dry :lol:

Oh, and I could have sworn I have dry skin, but after a couple hours of wearing my foundation, my skin is soooooo oily looking ...like I'm sweating :nono: Does this come from not setting foundation? I'm using Maybelline's liquid foundation.

I use blotting papers to keep my face from looking so oily. I also set my eyeliner with a matte shadow.

As for the oily looking foundation, yes, liquid needs to be set with powder. It could also be the wrong foundation or formula for you. I have pretty dry skin too but looked like a greaseball wearing MUFE Face and Body. I haven't had that problem with most other foundations I've tried.

For the waterline, perhaps you could try a shadow primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion or L'Oreal DeCrease) before applying liner.

I used to have that problem with foundation...I'd have to touch up or use blotting film constantly.

Now I use a good primer (Laura Mercier), an oil mattifier, then silica spheres from CS, and after I apply my foundation, I set it with a transparent finishing powder. The silica powder has made a HUGE difference...I'd definitely recommend it for anyone with oily skin.

some foundations like MAC studio fluid fix does this so I wear different foundations depending on what im doing for the day. I wear MAC matte with MUFE foundations cause IMO it doesnt work well with MAC foundations..I only wear MAC foundation if Im only going out for a couple of hours in the fall or cool weather or when I know Im not gonna do much but sit and look pretty.. for everything else I wear MUFE matt velvet cause that foundation sticks to your skin like glue without causing skin irritation or breakouts

i agree with this post i have oily skin so i use MAC prime and prime spf 50 it works way better for me than smashbox did
