Just wondering :). I see some of you have lost 40+ lbs over the past year and I'm curious how that's affected how you see yourself and how others see you.

I haven't lost a whole lot like some of you but it's made a huge difference for me. I started out at 172 and am down to 149. I'm at the point now where I don't automatically go "ugh I'm fat :perplexed" when I look in the mirror. My clothes are fitting well and I feel sexy most days.

I feel more limber and comfortable in my own skin with regular exercise. It also just plain feels good to eat well.. I'm learning not to be a slave to food cravings, it's really not that serious.

There's been more attention from the menfolk now that my body is looking tighter, stomach has flattened out, and my face is thinning. You know you're doing well when women give you the once over with their eyes lol. Can't wait to get to 135 - don't want no back fat following me into 2010 :drunk:. The men at my job treat me differently as I'm getting smaller smh.. men are funny, but I won't hold it against them.

Well I started to repond this AM but I haven't lost 40 pounds. As a matter of fact I started where you started 172 and I'm currently 152 heading to 135!

If you're will to listing to an under 40 pound loser I can tell you that I feel so much better about myself and with that comes the confidence. This is where my trail began tho b/c my goal like I said it 135 and I get complacent right around 150 so I'm pushing myself to lose the next 17 pounds!

Thanks for your response :) This thread is for anyone who feels different since losing weight, doesn't matter what amount. Losing more than 10% of your body weight is a big deal no matter where you started.

I hear you about complacency at a certain point - what are you doing to stay motivated?

I am losing and though I have a long way to go I feel better. I am not as tired walking simple places. I can run for longer. I remember when 90 seconds had me about to quit the whole thing. Now I'm at 8 miles.

I think though my clothes are fitting nicer and my double chin is gone the best thing is knowing that when I challenge myself I can do it. As I always say," Don't talk about it, be about it"
