makeup newby - where do i start?

k, i'm trying to up my it factor and i have never played around with makeup. i do mascara and eyeliner, thats it.

where do i start?

I have always loved makeup, but I really stepped my game up by watching youtube. Check out some of these channels. They really helped me a lot.

As a makeup addict (lol) I would first start out by finding a good foundation. I personally use Bare Minerals Matte foundation. It's amazing! It helps your skin and provides you with just enough coverage without the heavy buildup. You can use concealer if necessary.

Next onto eye shadows: I suggest you invest in BRAND NAME eye shadows. Department store brands are cheap for a reason. I try to give the department store brands a chance but they just don't hold up. I would recommend MAC or Urban Decay if you're into eye makeup. Those eye shadows used along with a eye shadow primer will make your eyes pop.

If you want to learn how to apply your eye shadows, as suggested check out the youtube channels. I learned a lot from them also.

When i first started ive purchase an good foundation and one eyeshadow. The reason that ive started off with maybe one or two cheap eyeshadow is you will need to practice. Then once you get the hang of it start building up your inventory lol lol

Yes, Youtube is helpful but I would start with finding a good foundation. You already use Mascara and liner and maybe some gloss. (and it wouldn't be me if I didnt say find a nice blush)

You can find relly good drugstore eyeshadows. Don't let a 'name be your decision on eyeshadows. Drugstore brands have really stepped up their game! So yes, you can find quality in a drugstore.

There are many ladies you can youtube who use mostly drugstore brands. Emilynoel is one and she is on the morning news everyday. I perfect MAC shadows because of the color selection. But I have some Drug store brands that are great too. (Try H.I.P. since you are just starting out.) The key to a good eyeshadow is a good primer. Especially if you have oily skin.
