Yes. I did Taebo and hated it. Gave me what I call a "jimmy" body. Masculine looking. Stole the little hips I had and gave me a square torso with no waist definition. I already have a natural shape like a dude (broad shoulders narrow hips so I really didn't care for that to be enhanced. :giggle: )

Was good on abs and a good aerobic workout but since I do care about shape, I prefer Turbo Jam a thousandfold! Didn't turn me into a "dude" but it's basically the same idea just done "nicely" IMO.

I should've known that the vid would do that to me coz a lot of the girls on it didn't have cute feminine shapes.

I have done tae bo. I liked it because it gave me a good sweat and by the end of it i felt like I had done something. I have the very first ones that he came out with so I would suggest that you stat with the instructional video. He teaches you the proper way to do the moves and you can do that one for as long as you. next would be the basic workout which still makes me work. An other idea is to look it up on google or amazon. In amazon, you can see what they look like and what others thought of the tape.

Good Luck!

My DD and I were just doing Tae Bo today. I've had the tapes for years and stopped doing them and I thought I'd revisit them.

We did Cardio today (only 1/2 of the tape because we couldn't keep up :look: )

I got the whole series and I'll probably incorporate one tape a week to my fitness regime.

I love Tae Bo, start with the instructional segment you gotta know how to do the moves correctly and then you can choose other programmes.

I love the old original tae bo. It was great. I lost 20 lbs doing that every morning when I was younger.

When I was younger and really fat, I did taebo 2 times per day to lose weigth fast. I lost 20 lbs in two months. The older tapes were the BEST! Recently I have incorporated the 8min taebo dvd, for a quick cardio burn before attempting my Jillian Michael "no more trouble zone" dvd. It's a quick workout that gets the heart pumping.

The older original ones are the best. I got lucky and got it on dvd and gave the vhs tapes to my sis.

I bought Ultimate Taebo on dvd last week from Wal*Mart (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)-- I like it and feel like I'm getting a good workout.-- I actually bought it just to get started til my Turbo Jam & Hip Hop Abs come in :)

Taebo works!! I used it a few years ago twice a week, alternating with walking outdoors. I lost 15 pounds over 3-4 months without drastically changing my eating habits.

I was just thinkin' about Billy Blanks...I bought the CD collection about a couple of years ago...

Thank God for the "pause" and "stop" buttons - Billy is tryin' to kill somebody...lol

I think will blow the dust off and start back since I in the gallon water drinkin' challenge...

I think they are good tapes. You will be drenched in sweat after 30-40 min of the workout.

If you have not wroked out in a while you should start with begginers or intermediate. Advanced workout would be too much for you to start with no recent workouts.

I just agree the older tapes are best. In addition to some others my favorites are tae bo advanced get ripped tape 1 and 2.

I have the original one on VHS but I don't own a vcr anymore lol

then I would suggest the firm body sculpting system for toning up especially the older vhs 90's through early 2000's with the fanny lifter. With the tape below you will definetely feel a burn and you will probably notice results after a week or two provided you add sufficient cardio and eat right.

I think it would be cheaper to mix and match by finding them on ebay than buying directly from their website.

Were you ladies lifting weights also or just using the videos for your toning needs?

I will never forget my 1st time with Billly, he had me whupped after 20 mins, I had to sit my butt down, lol! Definitely the one for making you sweat, increasing heart rate and burning that fat!

i like billy blanks. i have the bootcamp videos, and i don't really like them. they are way too advanced for me, and i feel like i'm gonna die tryin to do those. i really enjoyed the first ones he did though. i could keep up, and i like that there was an instructional video. i think i was still in a size 5 when i did those.

I love love love Tae Bo for the very same reasons you hate it Nonie :giggle:. I have a naturally big pear-shaped bootie and Tae Bo keeps it under control and nice firmly shaped. I think have a fairly great figure for a woman but my butt just need to be smaller and hence my  for Tae Bo:yep:.

And incidently, I have a few TurboJams DVDs and I absolutely hate them all. I liked all the pretty colors of clothing the ladies were wearing, but it ends there for me. I agree, Tae Bo is really GREAT for abs. It's the only way I actually enjoy working my abs too:grin:.

I have this one too and love how lengthy it is, I think like 89 minutes or so. I am usually dripping wet literally from head to toe after completing this workout:yep::grin:.
